I feel your pain. I live in Berkeley, and the wedding is in Oakland. My plan right now is to have my hair done at Elixir (Aveda -- same salon??) and then pop over to MAC on 4th street for makeup. I just couldn't see the point of shelling out so much $$$ for someone to come to my house.

My hair person is in Walnut Creek and she travels. I'm not sure if this is in your budget or not, but here's her info. Her name is Elizabeth Weiss and she's wonderful. Cost: Bride $75, trial $40, BM $50 + $50 travel. If you have a large party, her friend Gloria comes along. (925)939-5288. Feel free to msg me if you want pictures. Mine was an updo, so it wasn't so "natural" but some of my bridesmaids dos were pretty simple.
My makeup person was Patricia Igbodipe. She lives in the East bay, but her prices are a little bit more. $125 for the bride, and $75 for bridesmaid. She includes unlimited trials though. (925) 759-6559

you can try my hair & make-up person: joanne yim from sunnyvale. she's very reasonable and travels to location. i just had my trials and she did a great job! find her info here on yelp.

The Aveda salon I was planning on using does not have an esthetician working on Sundays... I don't want to spend more than $150 for hair and makeup, and I want something simple and natural. Any recommendations?
