My wedding colors are sage green and lavender. The main color is green, but we are using purple flowers for everything.

My florist suggest allium and agapanthus.

Inexpensive 100% depends upon where you are, I have discovered!

We are having two receptions… for one, my aunt is going to do the flowers with picasso calla lilies that my mom sourced. A farm place “wholesales” them, but in normal quantities.  We are getting a dozen and a half “large” size callas for…… drum roll please… $2 a stem!  If you’re in the Vancouver, BC area, let me know.

Contrast this to the quote I got for white calla bridesmaids bouquets that consist of ONLY 3 large stems with a small wrap, nothing else.  $60 each.

Still don’t have flowers sorted out for that event.

I think carnations are universally inexpensive.. and look so pretty as a bouquet all by themselves

and since you’re getting married in September..

chrysanthemums and dahlias will be in season and cheaper than the rest of the year.. and some types of mums (as well as dahlias) are quite large and will make more of an impact and require fewer stems.. also choosing fewer types of flowers will also lower the costs

(dahlias)

light purple roses are also relatively inexpensive compared to other flowers in demand, but likely will be more expensive in a dark purple

Statice also makes good “filler” flower and it comes in several shades of purple.. Pholx is also pretty, but is a little more expensive

(statice)

(phlox)

Also remember if your BM’s are going to wear dark purple, you might want to go with a lighter purple so they dont blend in!

My colors include purple too, so I am glad you started this thread.  My mom is getting my flowers from an organic farmer and the costs seem much lower than commercial vendors.  She is charging us $500 for the bouquet, cosages, bouts and centerpieces.

Here are our inspiration pics:

purple spider mums, stock, statice, carnations, matsumoto asters, monte casino aster, and larkspur can all be on the lower end of pricing.

Check into Lisianthus. I’m not sure on price. But a bouquet of dark purple lisianthus is to die for! My favorite purple bouquet.
