Continued from other thread...
@stormy9973: oooh, thanks for the advice! I'm used to stupidly heavy crampy periods, but it's good to mentally prepare yourself. The RE told me that after this Primolut stuff, I should get a period within 2-4 days, so fingers crossed on that one.
I'm starting out on 25mg of Clomid - so half a tablet from days 2-6. I asked why on both counts: why so little & why so early. He's worried about my ovarian cysts/the risks of hyperstimulating, so he starts small & works his way up. And as for why so early, he wants to really kick my cycle into a more regular time frame, so he's starting earlier so that I ovulate earlier. Fingers crossed this might actually be a HEALTHY menstrual cycle for once!
I'm glad you did. I had SO MANY brain farts this morning - first I named it V1111, then changed it to VIIII, stared at it blankly for a while & decided to go shower. This looks MUCH better. ;)
@jaguar: Working from a small dose of clomid and increasing it if need be is a very good idea, that stuff can be quite potent and different women react differently. My step aunt was put on 50mg when doing IVF. She ended up having over 200 eggs harvested that cycle! She was obviously very sensitive to it. I'm hoping with all my heart that the clomid is all your body needs to kick into gear and you and J are pregnant soon.
@Roux: 200!?!? Holy moley!! I have an image of them bursting through her abdomen like that scene from Alien! Was she able to use any of the eggs?
@Roux: Yikes! I'm happy to be starting small. Fingers crossed that kick will be what I need - but if it's not, we can look at increasing to 50mg later. :)
@mmsva: I reckon - very Alien'esque. I would be happy with just ONE good egg!!
@mmsva: They weren't able to use any, because her ovaries were so over stimulated the eggs were immature and all had to be discarded. The whole episode didn't do her ovarian reserves any favours, but this was years ago and I think they are a lot more clued up with treatments now. After the hyperstimulation she had to take a few months off, but now she has a 13 year old daughter, so it all worked out in the end. :)
So my LP seems to be different every month. From everything I've read, this part of the cycle is supposed to be pretty stable. Mine's been between 10 & 12. Anyone have any advice or info? Oh and I'm officially on Cycle 15. I'm glad-ish because 14 sucked! : )
Its amazing how medicine continues to advance significantly. I think how 10yrs ago I had my first myo and thought that was advanced considering they wanted to do a hystorectomy. Then I had robotic version this past Sept and I was shocked what a difference a decade made. My RE was able to take out 12 fibroids that I knew where still there from the 1st. My original doc just couldn't take them out cause the technology wasn't there.
Although I hate that we are having to go through this infertility stage, we're definitely lucky to having these issues during this time. There's soo much new research going on that future generations will definitley benefit.
@Mrs Green Grass: Mine can differ as well. If I'm stressed, I will definitely LP later.
I've also noticed that my period will start and the stop. Then come back a day or so later. I know this has to do w/ my fibroids but I hope the surgery took care of that.
Let me clarify; my last post doesn't totally make sense. My actual length of my luteal phase differs. (I O with an even greater variance between day 18 and 24). Then after I O. It's between 10 and 12 days until AF
@Mrs Green Grass: Now I understand. Sory, I don't think that's the issue w/ me. I do know one of my ovaries is sluggish but my LP cycle only varies a day or two.
@jaguar: Not awkward! You wouldn't really have one if a cycle is anovulatory... So maybe you can start to figure yours out next cycle!
@jaguar: Here's to you and I that we can finally get our cycles on track to do what they need to do:)
I've really enjoyed reading this threat. I had a dr appt on Wednesday with my OB and they want to start me on a small dose of Clomid soon....thing that sucks is that my husband lost his job on Friday and we're going to be without health insurance soon and I may have to cancel my follow up appt to get put on the Clomid. If I do, I'll just have to let it play out. DH and I really want kids and we're hoping my body is starting to get back to normal(I've had a period, different lengths and different starting days) for the last 2 months. Hopefully things are starting to look up. GL to everyone. :)
@Mrs Green Grass: Oh good, that's sort of what I was hoping was the reason!!
@stormy9973: They need a good old kick in the hiney!
@seg31085: I'm glad you've had some normality with your cycles over the last few months - that is promising at least. :)
@seg31085: Sorry about Dh's job loss. Sounds like your cycle is slowly coming back in line. Hopefully Dh won't be out of work long so you can continue your treatment. Sending up prayers:
Just wanted to say hello to all my girls :) Sending everyone positivity, patience and an ASS TON of baby dust. We need another round of BFP's!
@panterapeach: I agree. We need some BFP's to brighten our thread.
I can't wait for my doc appt. I'm going to beg my RE to let us TTC in Dec. I'm normally a calm person but I'm in my determined crazed lady phase. I want what I want.:)
Can I just vent? --insurance approvals sux!
I have an 'mock embryo transfer' or sonohystogram scheduled for tomorrow. I'm hoping it will finally give me diagnosis as to why I've been bleeding for 2 months straight (although slowing down because of BCP). But I just got a call from my RE Nurse that they may not have gotten the approvals from my HMO. ARRRRGHGHGHG!!
Since I have to do this during the first part of my artifically induced cycle, it needs to be done in the next few days. So if I have to wait for approval or have it done at by my HMO, I may have to wait another month to figure out was is going on. But wont find out what is going on until tomorrow morning.
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@mmsva: Is it possible for you to put in a call to your HMO? My ins co use to love me since I was always following up.
DH and I had our first infertility appointment with my OBGYN Monday. We are approaching the end of cycle 14 with no pgs, except a chemical in early May. So we're just starting the process...Just wanted to let you ladies know I'm officially joining your ranks...
@dagret: Welcome, I am so sorry to hear when anyone has to join this club. But on the positive side is you wont find another more supportive group out there.
We are all in this together.
@dagret: Yes, sorry you have to join us. Just remember you are getting close to having some answers and taking steps toward having the baby you want so much. *hugs*
@seg31085: If your doctor will let you, you should ask about Clomid treatment without monitoring. The drug itself is very cheap (I think I paid about $12?). I don't have any infertility coverage, so we started with no monitoring except for a 7DPO blood draw to confirm ovulation. It wasn't expensive at all.
Good news about taking this month off treatment is that I'm going to have minor surgery to correct some ongoing sinus problems. Basically I've felt like I've had a cold for two years and I've been snoring up a storm. I didn't believe Mr. B until he took a video of me. ;)
My specialist (not an RE, but a different ob/gyn who does more extensive treatment) appointment is a week from today! Woohoo!
@dagret:Welcome! I know it's not fun joining this thread, but it helps in so many ways! I hope you appt. goes well.
I wrote a new post about this, but I want to share with you ladies too! I got a + opk today! I'm beyond excited! I've never O'd before and I keep having to reel myself in b/c I'm not pregnant! Just ovulating. It's so hard, but I'm so happy:)
@squeak35: I went ahead and paid for it out of pocket ($300, foe those who are currious about cost). My HMO disapproved payment it at my RE's site previously (but I wasn't told about). I contacted my HMO this morning, but my RE appt was at 9:30. I wasn't sure when they would be able to get back to me to authorize the procedure at their facility or when I could get the appt. So I just sucked it up and paid for it. Luckily we could afford it this month, but those $100 here, $300 there charges add up over time. The thing that really pisses me off is that if the Financial Person at our RE would have told me that it wasn't covered, then I would have contacted my HMO last week. Just means that I'm going to become 'that patient'. The one who calls- ALL. THE. TIME.
@dagret: Sorry you have to join. Def not a club that likes increased membership LOL, but it's a great group of gals here!
@bunny: Ugh--feeling like you've had a cold for 2 years? How could you stand it? I'm glad you are finally having that corrected. Just in time for pregnancy when you get all stuffed up again. (At least you won't be double stuffed up)
@JewishBride: YAY! I haven't O'd in awhile and know how momentus it is when you do-- that's half the battle. Let's hope it's a super sticky egg!
As for me and my test results-- Good news- no structural problems. I have some small fibroids they were worried were causing the bleeding. But everything looks good, so no surgery. Bad news- no structural problems ;-) Which means they don't know what is causing my extreme AF. Might be hormonal, but nothing really showing up on blood tests that looks that bad. So still in the waiting game...
@dagret: Welcome to our club. We're a very supportive group of women so lean on us doing the good and the bad times.
@mmsva: WTH. The RE should've told you the obvious. I agree that it does add up quickly. I'm getting the bills from my Sept surgery and I'm in shock how much it cost. This surgery cost 2x as much as my surgery 10yrs ago. Thank God I have surgery.
Good news on the test. I would've thought it was your fibroids. W/out any other structural issues, that would make sense. Hopefully, its hormonal and they figure it out soon.
@JewishBride: Congrats on "O"ing. Isn't it great when your body finally gets the message:)
@dagret: so sorry you're going through this, but glad we can {hopefully} be a source of support.
@JewishBride: congrats! i gave up on OPKs a long time ago because I was tired of failing, so I can imagine how excited you are!
@squeak35:It's amazing! Is it weird that I feel more...womanly now? I don't feel broken anymore:)
@mintmercury:Ughh...I know! I've always hated taking them and was kind of irked when my doctor told me that I HAD to take them. It's hard never seeing a positive. The past few days the line was so light you could barely see it so I lost hope.
@mmsva:I'm so nervous for the next two weeks! But at least I know I won't have to up my dose:)
@dagret: Just wanted to chime in and say WELCOME. *hugs*
@JewishBride: So excited for you! I hope my response to Clomid is the same next week (hopefully!!!!)
I felt like this thread had a bunch of ladies who were super close before their huge cluster of BFPs this summer and I feel like it's starting to get that way again, yay : )
My RE appointment is a week away! But I just found out I have to figure out whether to switch my insurance by Monday...before the appointment. I guess I just have to do it since I'm definitely not pregnant. (I don't like change.)
@dagret: We are in super similar places! I just finished 15 and had a chemical in 13...Welcome. Hopefully your stay here will be nice and short : )
@dagret: welcome to our group:)
@bunny: I hope your surgery goes well for you! Everytime it gets cold my sinuses go crazy as well!!! And I get that I snore loud all the time from DH, but he does as well:)
@JewishBride: I am so happy for you!!! I used to O, but haven't in about 2 years and I too keep waiting for a positive of some kind, either a positive OPK or HPT. Hoping the second round of clomid does the trick for me too!!
@mmsva: I'm sorry they still can't figure out what is going on with AF....hoping it stops soon for you!
@Mrs Green Grass: I don't like change either......why is it so hard to be an adult sometimes!!! Good luck!
I have 2 pills left of provera to take and pray that AF isn't worse than last month after taking it!!!! Looking forward to Saturday.....DH bought me Reba tickets for our anniversary and I am super excited because I have wanted to go see her forever!!!!!
@stormy9973:Thank you:) I had to take provera a second time and it wasn't as bad as the first one! I hope you have the same experience:) Good luck!
@JewishBride: and @stormy9973: how long did it take after stopping provera for AF to show up? it's been 10 days of lots of pre-period symptoms but no period. it's starting to freak me out a little...
