I wish I could understand some of the acronymns used on the threads but I'm always hopelessly lost. I don't suppose there's a thread with the acronymns is there?
Okay as an attempt to keep track of all the BFP that have happened around here:
Big Fat YYYYAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all have given me hope as I officially go from TTC to IF treatment. I have a RE appt at the end of the month.
It's hard to keep track of everyone, so for the ones who we are senting super sticky baby dust to, would you mind telling us:
Thanks and sending you lots of happy, sticky thoughts!!
So I'm on CD22, about 7DPO if I ovulated. Recap: I have PCOS and was on Metformin this cycle, but it made me so sick and landed me in the ER so I had to stop taking it RIGHT at my ovulation time. I'm hoping it was enough to make me ovulate! I also stopped temping at that time because I was so frustrated - so I'm really in the dark this month!
I've been having some weird cramps/sensations yesterday and today, spotted a tiny bit this morning and just got hit with the craziest wave of nausea that I had to come on here and post. No clue why, but I'm not getting my hopes up! Beginning to think that I'm a hypochondriac and convincing myself of these things!
Here's to week 2 of the TWW ladies!
Sending lots of sticky thoughts your way. I am desperately hoping for some O-symptoms soon - had some unusual (but not quite EW) CM this morning but still having no luck with the OPK testing - all negative.
If I don't ovulate this month, that'll be the past FOUR months that have been anovulatory, which is getting ridiculous.
Crossing fingers...
Sending sticky dust to all you girls with BFP's!!!!!! So excited and happy :D
@jaguar: Do you still get periods when you're anovulatory? I never understood this.
@MrsMaine: yeah, oddly enough, you do. The "period" is from your body building up the lining for when the egg drops and gets fertilized. When no egg drops (which means an anovulatory cycle) the cycle continues as though the egg didn't get fertilized. I did some research when a doc said I might be having anovulatory cycles a couple years ago... when we were NOT TTC but I was having some really weird cycles.
I'll join in just for those joining us. :)
Your age: 33
His age: 35
How long TTC: 1.5 years
Problems: PCOS, annovulation (just long long cycles with breaktrhough bleeding)
Procedures/Meds: 5 rounds of Clomid with an HCG trigger each time, One IUI (never repeated because DH's sperm count, motility, etc was labeled by the nurse "phenomenal" and therefore they did not think IUI increased our chances enough to be worth the money. Damn, were we lucky there!). Started on Metformin after a couple rounds of Clomid.
MC: November. I found out my HCG was low (65) on the same day I found out I was pregnant. I was told I had a 50% chance of miscarrying. This was my first cycle of Clomid, which I had taken 3 rounds of during that 65 day cycle. Talk about a forced ovulation. No wonder it wasn't healthy. When I went for the 2nd check, the numbers had increased, but not enough. MC started within a few days.
Additional things: My doctor suggested losing 15 lbs. I joined WeightWatchers and so far have lost 11. At the time of conception I had lost about 8. Just to give you an idea of my general size before and now, I am 5'2" and I started at 148. All my weight was around my middle. Now I am 137. We have also used Pre-seed as general lube, but not inserted it the way the directions tell you to.
This cycle: This was my first cycle off Clomid. Although you are "allowed" 6 cycles of it, my doctor thought I would have a better chance off it. He thought it might be hindering conception at this point. We were pretty confident I would ovulate on my own because (due to the Met) my hormone levels were more normal then they have ever been. I bought an OPK, peed on every stick, and nothing. I went for bloodwork and was told that it was coming, and to buy another OPK. We made sure to BD every day leading up to the big O. I got my positve OPK on Tuesday (cycle day 30-ish), July 19, and we BD-ed the next morning.
EDD: Hasn't been "confirmed" by a doctor yet, but Sweetkate's IUI was on the same day DH and I BD-ed, and hers is April 12th...so I am going with April 12th!
Your age - 29
His age - 31
How long TTC - 1.5 years, but 4 medicated cycles
Problems - I have PCOS and a partially blocked left tube due to an ectopic pregnancy. Throughout my IF treatment, we've also found that I have thin lining issues and do not respond to Femara, alone. DH checks out fine.
Short Summary - I'm currently on Metformin 1000 mg, as well as Femara 7.5 mg on CD's 3-10 and Estrace on CD's 8 until I get a positive OPK. Next month, I'll be starting injectables. We tried IUI in June but were unsuccessful.
M/C - I've had three: 1st m/c at 6.5 weeks in 4/09. 2nd was an ectopic at approximately 5 weeks in 5/10. 3rd was a chemical in 5/11.
Other things I've done - I've lost 15 pounds and have gotten into shape. I also take regular prenatal vitamins and am starting acupuncture this month.
This cycle: Femara on CD's 3-10, plus estrace supplements. Failed to progress/develop follicles, so I'm now on progresterone.
@MrsMaine: Yep. It's so frustrating! Today is CD20 and I thought I had some EW CM this morning but waited for the afternoon's OPK to confirm... and it's negative.
SO FRUSTRATING.
@jaguar: I'm right there with ya, I felt like and thought I was O'ing, but OPK never showed positive.....VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! Hopefully I'll find something out on Tuesday when I go to the DR.
@Zinzerena: & @jaguar: Thank you for the info. That's what I figured happened. For a second I was like, "Wait... I'm anovulatory sometimes and still get my period - WTF?" Good to have that cleared up!
Well ladies, I don't know what to think. I'm 9DPO right now (99% sure I ovulated) and I've got some weird shit going on to put it simply haha! In the TWW thread I posted that on 7DPO I spotted for half of the day then it disappeared. I've been having these weird cramps/sensations, and getting these random waves of something in between dizziness and nausea- but not really either one. Something I've never felt before.
This is a cruel joke if this isn't it. I wanted to wait til 12DPO to test but I think I will tomorrow (10DPO) morning and every day thereafter...
I am also a symptom machine this month, really this month is my first with potential for a normal cycle, with 200, and 100 day cycles behind me. The Metformin seems to be doing something, I am not sure if it is just driving me crazy, or it is acually helping (LOL) I have been on Metformin for 7 weeks, and haven't had any Metformin side effects since about week 2. This month we decided to just see how it goes since we were on vacation and such, so I have no clue if/when I ovulated. On CD 21 I had really sore nipples, and nausea on and off all day, the nipple soreness went away but was replaced by breast tenderness, and yesterday and today (today is CD24) my breasts are really sore and HEAVY! I also had crazy cramps last night (in the past I only cramped on the first day of my period). I am not sure what to think, but I might POAS tomorrow, because I have a ton of cheap test strips. Me and DH are trying to decide how to face next month, he is a fan of the "do nothing but get it on alot" approach, but I am considering ordering some OPK's ...
Question for you ladies, when you use OPK's, when do you start and how many average do you use per cycle? Would ordering 20 be a good start?
@stormy9973: Fingers crossed for you! Despite the negative OPK testing, we decided to BD anyway - and another negative today (less EW CM though) has kind of deflated my hopes.. but we'll try again. At least we can't say we're not trying!!
@MrsMaine: Those sound promising? I will be SO happy for you if it's going the way you hope it does.. fingers crossed lady!
@Ms Mini: It depends on your cycle, I think. Because I'm all over the place, I have no 'set' cycle so I test from quite early to quite late - meaning I go through a bucketload of OPK strips !!! Seriously, I was determined not to miss it if I DID ovulate, so I pee like a crazy woman. ;) I get the cheap ones from Amazon/Ebay so I don't feel bad about going through them.
Dissappointing morning ... I just got off the phone with the FS (who I got referred to in June, have been leaving messages for since then) my initial referral got lost, and they just re-received it, and now I will be waiting until October to get in. They put my on a cancellation list, so hopefully something comes up earlier.
Hi girls. Sorry, I've been absent for a while.
@heathaah: Congratulations!!!! So happy for you.
So still no glowing positives on the OPK front but CM has gone back to dry/sticky. So here's a question for you: for a full YES on the test sticks, do both lines have to be equally dark? I got a very faint second line yesterday but the packaging warned they both should look the same.
I'm going to go ahead and assume that our window (if it even WAS a full ovulation) has passed for this month, so we'll have to see what happens.
Scratch that - I've researched some more and looks like without the evenly coloured second line on the OPK I DIDN'T ovulate after all.
Bugger. I was so hoping that this cycle would give us a shot. Shoot.
Hi ladies! As many of you know, we've been taking a ttc break (emotionally, physically and financially) as we prepare for IVF in the next month or two. Well....
Friday I came home from work and was kinda surprised to have some light pink discharge after wiping. (Sorry for TMI!) Didn't think too much of it, though. Yesterday morning I had some brown when I wiped. I did the math and realized that I would have ovulated (based on my very regular cycles) last Saturday and we baby danced twice that Wed and Thurs. before O day. I figured that mean that it could be implantation bleeding based on the timing!! (Implantation bleeding is generally 6-10 days after O Day) I started freaking out becaue 1) my doc told me after my cyst surgery in June that I probably can NOT get pregnant on my own and even more importantly 2) that if I do/did get pregnant it could very likely be ectopic. I waited until last night to tell my husband. I also told my mom. We all don't know what to think! Should I be a little excited? Not happy? I don't know!
Just wanted all of you to know what is happening. Can any of you think of any other cause of pink/brown very light spotting around implantation time??? AHHHH!!!!!! I''m freaking out here! Very scared and also kinda excited, too! So many mixed emotions!!
@Jenn23: Wow, I am going to keep my fingers crossed until we know more. x
I had a pretty huge temperature spike this morning - from 35.6 to 36.3. Maybe I really did ovulate after all? *bangs head on desk* Well, we BD'ed a few days during that 'maybe' time, so now we'll wait and see. :)
@Jenn23: With my ectopic, there was A LOT of bleeding. It was like a heavy period, and the cramping was intense. Like...I can't imagine that labor could beat it. So at this point, I'm leaning more toward implantation bleeding than an ectopic. SO EXCITING! Anything can happen, especially after a month like the one we've had on here :-)
@jaguar: Good luck!!!!!
Not much new here. I'm finishing my Provera tomorrow, so AF should be here by Tuesday or Wednesday. We'll begin injections next month. With this new job, I honestly don't know that I'll be able to schedule an IUI, unless it's on the weekend. That's a major bummer, but since we conceived the chemical (in May) with BD'ing alone, maybe we can be successful with just that, again.
@Jenn23: Fingers and toes crossed for you! That would be so fabulous!
Tested 10DPO in the evening on a cheapie test and got a BFN.
Well, I tested on 11DPO with FMU on a Wandfo cheapie stick and saw a really very very barely there faint second line. I wasn't convinced so I bought a digital - BFN.
Tested with another Wandfo this morning and saw the same barely there line. No darker, but there.
Don't know what to think! I think I'll test with another digital tomorrow and see.
I'm really trying not to get my hopes up because reality tells me it's probably just a fluke.
@mrswhit3: Will be thinking of you - I know what you mean about being busy, I hardly have a chance to BREATHE lately. It's crazy.
@MrsMaine: Oh my gosh, twinnie... this is sounding so promising??? I am holding my breath over here. xxx
Whoever created the reproductive cycle is mean. Waiting for ovulation... then waiting for two weeks (& then some) to go by... then waiting for the dreaded AF to be OVER WITH to start it all again is just AWFUL.
@jaguar: I know... I can't even sleep because I'm obsessing so much over it. I guess Wandfo's are super sensitive, but tomorrow would be 13DPO - wouldn't that be soon enough for a regular test to pick it up? My boobs hurt like a motha today too. Ugh.
@MrsMaine: A line is a line is a line, girl! Wishing you a sticky baby! :)
9 DPO tomorrow and should have the results back from my 7 DPO progesterone test then. I'm crossing my fingers that the clomid did its job! I'll update tomorrow when I hear from the doctor.
@MrsMaine: I don't claim to have ANY idea on these things, but I think staying positive helps. I don't think I'd be able to sleep either!
@MrsMaine: Oh my gosh! Let us know what the digital test says this morning. I hope this is it for you!!!!!!
@Ms Mini: I'm so sorry you have to wait a few months to see the doc. I hope there is a cancellation so you can get in much sooner!!!!
@jaguar: I hope you did ovulate. The temperature spike sounds promising!!! I know, the whole two week wait for ovulation, then brutual two week wait to see if one is pregnant is pure torture!
@mrswhit3: Thanks! Yep, this wasn't heavy bleeding-just very light spotting. And it is gone now. I like how you mentioned after the month on this thread that anything is possible. :) Good luck with the injections! And I hope it just happens naturally since you may not have time for an IUI. Fingers crossed!
@babybunny: I hope the Clomid worked this month. Hope you get good news today!
@Jenn23: I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! That would be awesome news!!!
@MrsMaine: I had the same thing happen about a month ago with the strips. Thought there was a faint line, so I went and bought a digital and it was a BFN.
Sending good thoughts though that yours will be a BFP!!!
Good Morning Ladies,
Thank you all for the kind words. I did end up getting a BFP yesterday on the Wandfo + a FRER, not a digital.
But, unfortunately, this morning (13DPO) I woke up to semi-heavy bleeding, so I'm assuming it was a chemical pregnancy.
I feel like, even though we almost anticipated this, it still doesn't prepare you for it. It's a feeling I have never felt before.
I can't help thinking if I had been allowed to stay on the Metformin, if it would have helped sustain it. (I got very sick from it and ended up in the ER, and they took me off of it RIGHT at ovulation time.)
I don't know. I don't know what to think. I just want to get this over with so we can start fresh.
