@bunny: Oh hon. I get you - I really do. Most people assume we didn't start TTC until after the wedding, when that actually couldn't be further from the truth - and I feel like really? We've had probably 2 cycles where I potentialy ovulated. TWO. In that whole time! The rest of the time has been like you - constantly POAS, trying to make heads or tails of something that's not happening, pressure on both of us.

My heart goes out to you & Mr. B - I know that things will work out as they're supposed to, but that doesn't make the stupid waiting process any easier. *sending big hugs*

@Mrs Green Grass: Good luck making your decision, hon.

I've been irritated enough with no monitoring this cycle. It's been like, here, have some Clomid, come in for a blood test at CD21, but we won't talk about it with you until the 30th .... which will be CD31. REALLY? Oh, I don't know. I'm just cranky today.

@jaguar: That would be really hard...do you have to pay for monitoring?  Mine's all included in a Clomid IUI package deal...but we are still paying for it.

@Mrs Green Grass: I have no idea. In fact, it's a different kind of system. For me, I pay the RE each time I visit (first time was $230, each new visit is $130) and then I pay for the drugs I prescribe from the chemist - so the Progesterone and Clomid from last cycle came to around $70. I pay for my Metformin that way too, just regularly at the chemist, but that's not too expensive - around $10 for a 2 month supply usually.

As for monitoring, I don't know how that works. I know if we move to triggering and injectibles, the price goes up. If I need a blood test or an u/s done, you go to a specific lab or radiology place, and they each charge you independently too.

It would be SO much easier if it was all done at the same place!

I've been reading these posts for months and have never commented...but I finally feel it's time to throw our name into the mix as well!  After trying for almost a year, I found out that I was pregnant with an ectopic in September.  We've been going to a fertility clinic & finally have to go-ahead to try again next cycle, which should start in a week or so!  I'll do Clomid combined with IUI the week before Christmas & will be testing by the new year - it is crazy to think about it!

I really try not to get my hopes up too much due to so much disappointment over the past year+, but at the same time, I am confident that it will happen :)

Best of luck to all of you!

    xoxo

I should also add that I was diagnosed with "unexplained infertiity" right before I found out about the ectopic.  Everything looks to be fine with Mr. Q, too.  It has been very frustrating knowing that I have my period and ovulate right on track each month & couldn't get pregnant.  I am pretty tall & thin, and my doc recommended putting on a few pounds, which I've done.  Wink

i'm on CD27 and assuming that my +OPKs were right and i actually did ovulate, i'm 5 DPO. i'm not very hopeful. {we have something like a 2% chance of conceiving on our own according to our RE}. i'm looking at more like a 3 week window as my cycles are usually between 38-43 days. hang in there ladies!

@quiche: welcome to the boards! wishing you and your husband the best of luck on your upcoming IUI.

@squeak35: Sorry you are feeling lousy. Hope you are better soon!!

@stormy9973: Sorry, nothing is happening. I was so hoping you'd ovulate by now! :(

     @mintmercury: Fingers crossed!!!

@quiche: Sorry you have to join our group, but welcome!!!!!! Good luck with the IUI in a few weeks!! I did two and they are pretty simple and quick. I'm hoping my IVF cycle will be the week before Christmas, so it is possible that you and I will both be testing right before the New Year! :)

RE appt. is tomorrow morning. We'll see what he says about starting back up again as soon as AF shows in a few days. I hope we are cleared to start again!!

@quiche:  I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic... welcome to our group, though!  I'm with you on the unexplained infertility... 18 months and nada, and both of our numbers look fantastic.  My cycles were long-ish, but I was ovulating.  Eh, we're on to IVF soon!

@Jenn23:  Are you doing a blood test or an ultrasound to check things out?  I really hope that you get to start soon!  Have you heard from MerryC?  I'm curious to know how her second beta went (did I miss it on the other board?)

Just chuggin' along over here.  I have 17 more days (on BCP) until I start Lupron, 24 until supression check, 25 until stimming medication starts up,  36 days until retrieval 41 days until transfer and 51 days until I can find out if it works (not that I'm counting or anything)!  Assuming all goes well, of course.  :)

@meganmp1: Thanks for thinking of me! My second beta went up to 639, and I had another beta last week that came in at 3703!  The doubling time has been around 38-39 hours for all of them.  So everything looks great and I have a 7 week US at the RE next week!  We're so thankful.  Keeping my fingers crossed for a perfect outcome for both you and Jenn!

@meganmp1: Nope, haven't seen an update from MerryC.  I hope the 2nd beta doubled!  I'm counting down the days, too. I'll have bloodwork and another ultrasound tomorrow and then if things look good, I can start the injections in a few days on Day 1 or 2 of AF. (Depending on what day they tell me to start) I'm so nervous, but anxious to start again! I hope the next few weeks fly by for you, so it doesn't seem like such a long wait! :)

MerryC..how is everything? How did the 2nd beta go??

I don't know - I think I'm potentially just... not doing it right. Hopefully a new dose will happen, but we'll still need to bring about AF to start again. I'll let you guys know after the RE appointment tomorrow!

@jaguar - ugh.  That just doesn't sound at all fun.  I'm sorry they aren't talking with you more about it and making you feel better.  I've been lucky so far with not having to go to an RE yet, but my endocrinologist makes up for that moneywise.  Everything is so expensive and even if they aren't, it just seems like there are so many little things that add up to a lot in the end anyway!  I hope that they can give you some insight as to why it didn't work and maybe give you a higher dose for the new cycle!

@squeak - ugh!  I hope you feel better soon.  I hate colds!

@Stormy - I hope you get your O before then!  If not then I am wishing you so many good things on the next cycle!

@quiche - Oh hun, I'm so sorry about your loss.  Welcome to the thread and I hope your stay here is short!

@mintmercury - fingers crossed for you!

@Jenn23- I hope things go well this morning and that you are cleared to start again!!

    @meganmp1 - Good luck!!

@MerryC - I'm so glad that things are progressing well for you!  I get my first beta back today (hopefully) and I'm so nervous about it!

As for me... I posted this in the Thanksgiving thread, but not in here yet.  I got a BFP yesterday!  Actually, I've now taken 4 tests and they've all been positive!  Just no love on digi's yet, but it's probably still early on those.  My OB had me go in right away yesterday to do a blood test and I should be getting the results this morning!  I'm BEYOND excited!  I'm praying so hard for this to be a sticky bean!!

For poas addicts like me, here's a pic from one of my tests yesterday:

@quiche: Welcome, and good to see you! But I am sorry that you have to be here. I'm so excited for your IUI! We're going to be doing that next cycle so you have to tell me all about it!

We decided to cool our heels again this cycle. I'm going to be working out every day and eating healthy. I would really like to drop 10-15 lbs before we start the IUI process next month. With my new job having me up at 7 every day, I'll also get to start temping! YAY! I'm actually really looking forward to this cycle. I'm at work now, so I have to head out but I'll check back in once I get home tonight.

    Love you all!

@jaguar: I did 50mg the first month on Clomid, then the 2nd month 100mg. You were on 25mg, right? I hope your RE ups the dose to at least 50mg! You must be so anxious for your appt. tomorrow!

@squeak35: Luckily, you only have to wait one more day. Can't wait to hear what your doctor says tomorrow! Hope you are feeling better!

@dodgercpkl:  Congrats!!! That's fantastic news!! You must be thrilled!! Woohoo! :)

@bunny: That's great you'll be able to temp with the new work schedule! Good luck losing the weight before the IUI. You can do it! :)

So we just got good news at our RE appt. My lining did show that AF is very near (what I expected) and should come in a few days. At that time, I call right away and go back in for more bloodwork and another ultrasound. If things look good, we start the injections right away. Yay!

Also, my fluid filled cyst on my left ovary shrunk from 50mm to 29mm which is good. The ultrasound tech checked my antral follicle count and I have five antral follicles on my right ovary (last time only three follicles) so that means I could have even more this time. So we're hoping once I start the meds that I'll have at least 7-8 on that side and hopefully at least 5 on the left. (The ultrasound tech couldn't see my left follicles today due to the cyst-just like last time) It's too early to see them on that side. But at least there are 5 on my right side. And you always get more follies with the injections. So considering I have a low AMH, this is a decent number before starting the injections. My RE said, "Ok guys, we're going to bang this out before Christmas...we'll get you a good Christmas gift".  :)

    Hey Ladies!

I am a long time lurker (2 years!) that was recently diagnosed with PCOS and I've been trying to follow your journey here. My husband and I have been trying since july, but we haven't had a cycle since then!

The doctor recently put me on 1500mgs of metformin and I'm praying for that to work. He doesn't seem too optimistic about just the metformin working, so I'll be put on Chlomid most likely when I see him 12/21.

However, between the metformin and an insulin-resistant diet, I've managed to lose about 6 pounds in just about 2 weeks. Who knows, maybe the weight loss will help!

Thank you everyone!  I'm so antsy to get the blood test results!

@phillipians48:  I have pcos too and I've been on Metformin since August.  This cycle has seen me get my first ovulation in well over a year and a half AND it's given me my first ever positive pregnancy test!  Keep working on your diet and keep taking the metformin.  I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it did for me so I'm living proof that it's worth a shot!

@Jaguar, I hope everything goes well at the RE tomorrow and that the medications will get figured out!

@dodgercpkl, Can't wait to hear your doctor results!! Thank you so much for the encouragement. It's been a rough transition being on the metformin... especially around Thanksgiving when I like to eat! I've been sick to my stomach the whole darn time!

@dodgercpkl: CONGRATS! Praying you get a good strong beta...and soon!

@phillipians48: Welcome and good luck! And congrats on your weight loss!

@bunny: Congrats on the new job, and I think it's a great idea to feel as healthy as possible going into your IUI next month.  Good luck!

@jaguar: Hope you get some good answers and a higher dosage at your appt! You are so amazingly patient.....and I hope your patience will be rewarded with sucess this time :)

@Jenn23: YAY! I'm so glad everything looks right on track for you to start SOON!  A smaller cyst! And even more follicles!  Maybe the delay was a blessing in disguise so you'll have even better odds with more eggs and embryos this time around.  I'm so happy for you.

@meganmp1: Yes, my RE says the funniest things. I just loved when he said, "Let's bang this out before Christmas". LOL

@phillipians48: Thanks! Good luck on the Metformin!! I hope that helps! And possibly, Clomid!

@MerryC: Very true. Maybe I will have more eggs this time (it seems like it based on the antral follicle count) so it could be a blessing in disguise! :) Hope you are doing well!!

@stormy9973: Thanks! Any sign of O or AF, yet?

So, I've been wanting to do accupuncture, but never have since it is so pricey. There are people who swear it helps with infertility, so I'm of the "can't hurt, can only possibly help" mindset. Well, a co-worker of mine just told me about community accupuncture in which about 5 people are in the same room (fully clothed, pants, shirt sleeves just rolled up) so it is significantly cheaper. I'm thinking of trying it. It's $25 per session instead of $75. Since we'll be starting IVF in a few days, I think I should do it? Anybody have experience with this??
