@bakerella: Thanks for the new thread!

To everyone else- thanks for thinking of me!  It wasn't too scary... I am aching now, though.  My doc said that things were kind of hiding, so they had to dig around quite a bit to make sure they got everything, which is why I'm in pain, but I ended up with 13 eggs.  I'll find out tomorrow how many turned into zygotes, and then hopefully I'll transfer on Monday.  I had been hoping for MerryC's fabulous numbers, but I suppose all I need is one!  :)

@Jenn- So glad that you feel that doing the IVF is the right thing AND the timing works out!  Do you have a general idea about when you would do retrieval and transfer?

@squeak- so sorry to hear about the puppy... hope he feels better soon!

@jaguar- I'm so sorry that this RE hunt continues to cause you grief... this is the last thing you need!  I'm sending good thoughts your way.

@meganmp1: Squee! I have everything crossed for you, my dear. So exciting!

So... I finally have some news.

I went to see my original GP {the one who stalled me for months before giving me a referral to the current RE} because... I want out. I want a new referral, to a new RE that I've found myself, who works in a specialised fertility CENTRE.

I knew I'd have a fight on my hands and I was right - she was continually questioning why I need to change so early on in my course of treatment, despite me telling her that I'm doing Clomid unmonitored, have had ____ many months of no ovulation, the last THREE blood tests showing that things aren't working, and that he didn't bother to re-book me for an appointment anytime in 2012. She kept telling me to stick it out and I put my big girl pants on and told her that this is what we want, thanks.

I have a referral for me & hubby for our new specialist - and we're booked in with this new RE on 2/2!

(Yes, it's a full month from now - but it's progress!)

I've decided to start the progesterone today at CD26 to end this failed cycle anyway, so I'll have one more shot at Clomid before the new RE vist. I'm debating whether I do the 75mg crappy-RE wanted me to do, or if I bite the bullet and do 100mg. Nothing has worked so far.

@jaguar:  I AM SO PROUD OF YOU! I know how hard it is to speak up for what you want to a doctor, and you did it. I don't know if I could have! So glad that you get to see a new RE, even though the visit is a month away. About the clomid -- I guess I don't understand how you can choose whether to do 75mgs or 100mgs? The way it works in the US we have to get prescriptions and they'll only give us the amount the doctor says.

@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: Thank you so much!

@bunny: Well, because old-RE is hopeless, he gave me a generic script and a really rough 'if this doesn't work, up to 75mg' .. so yep, I have enough to do either that or 100mg for this final one. :)

@jaguar: You go Gurl!!!  I cant believe your GP told you too put on your Big Girl pants.  Really Lady.  The RE is charging me through the roof when I'm getting the service level of an online provider.  I'm glad you didn't back down and you have an appt in Feb.  The days will fly by.

My advice is to take the 100 or skip this cycle and begin anew w/ your new RE.

@meganmp1: I had to take Mr. Brownie to the vet.  I slept 2 hrs last night cause I thought he wasnt going to make it.  His cough is horrendeous and I'm pissed they rushed for me to take him hm.  Well, I couldn't have him stay a day longer.Even though he's a Baddie and I just found his latest dumping spot.

Well Ladies, I'm TTW.  Hoping all of our BD did the trick cause DH doesnt like how I hold him to our marriage contract.  Rain, shine, sleet or snow, its time too get BUSY.LOL

@meganmp1: 13 eggs is great!!! I've actually heard that 10-15 is a good target number, since you get a lot of eggs without too many quality issues and w/o risking bad OHSS!  I hope you get great fertilization!  The day or so after retrieval is the most uncomfortable of the whole process, so hopefully it will pass quickly and the pain won't be too bad.  Just relax and watch lots of funny tv.  Sending lots of good baby growing juju up to Seattle :)

@squeak35: I can't wait to start fresh! At least I know this time wasn't wasted - being with slow old RE has meant I've at least given the easier options {Clomid} a try before jumping into the big stuff.

@Mrs Green Grass: Thank you so much! I'm so pleased I did it today. If I left it too long and over-thought it, I would have wimped out. :D

@meganmp1: Yay! 13 eggs is a great number. As MerryC said, that is right in the range of the ideal number of eggs!! Too many and you risk OHSS. I'm so happy for you. Let us know how many fertilized today. I hope all of them did! C'mon Megan's eggs..do your thing! I'm sorry you are sore and that you have some pain. I hope you are feeling better today.

@Mrs Green Grass: That's great you are taking a more relaxed approach this month, too. It does help, doesn't it? I think the accupuncture really is helping with that, too! I wish I could go every day. If it were significantly cheaper, I would! haha I went for accupuncture last night and felt like a million bucks when I left! :)

@jaguar: Good for you for standing firm and telling your doctor you want to see a different RE. Sorry you have to wait until 2/2, but at least you now know you are going to see somebody else!! If you could do the 100mg one time, I think that would be great. These lower doses just aren't working for you. I'm sorry. :(

@squeak35: Oh no, poor Brownie. I'm sorry and hope Brownie is feeling better today. I hope the antibiotics work soon! You must be exhausted!! Do you hold up the marriage contract and say, "Right here it says BD when Squeak says to!"? hehe

24 hours from now I'll be done with my ultrasound and bloodwork and waiting to see if we can start injections. Ahh! I'm excited!

I went to accupuncture last night and it was wonderful. Somehow she hit a blood vessel on my right arm so it was hurting a little and bruised at the end of the treatment. (This was the first time this happened) She apologized profusely and I said, "Oh don't worry, the amount of needles I'll be dealing with in a few days for IVF, this is nothing". LOL

@Jenn23: I think I'm gonna call my Dr. today and see what she says, but I'm thinking that I O'd last week when I had my darkest line ever on my OPK, because a couple of days after that I got the pinching in my left ovary and I had either watery or EWCM during those days, the only thing that I didn't have was the dip in temp.  I did have a cold during that time, so I don't know if that could have affected my temps, or if my BBT thermometer is on the brink........I'm just tired of it all!!!!!!!

@stormy9973: That sounds very, very positive!!! The darker line, the pinch and EWCM all sound great. (I never charted, so I don't understand all of that) Yay!!!! So what day of your cycle (approximately) would you be at about now? I'm crossing all my fingers and toes for you!!!!!

if anyone wants to keep in touch, send me a PM or find me on FB (since I know some of ya'll have my email addy).

Hugs and well wishes to everyone!!!!

@stormy9973: awww, thanks!  We'll get through it but trying to not be disappointed is impossible and I'm trying to not be depressed.  I really miss not chatting with you ladies, but considering certain factors (insert giant eye roll) who keep trying to intrude on our lives, I've been trying to stay off the boards and blog and keep to facebook.

At least things are good between me and my FI.  The kids are doing good in school and out, so that's a positive thing, too.

I just wish the rest of our aspirations hadn't gone up in smoke... (see, there I go again, giving into the disappointment... ;) )

oh, and on another happy note, I've managed to sell a few things in my zazzle store.  Not a lot, but a few!

@Jenn23: Yeah!!!!  Normally I wouldn't be soo excited about injections but I'm soo excited that tomorrow is the day.  Wholly ......   Brownie is doing so much better.  Yesterday, I brought a humidifer and ran it through the night.  He only hacked a couple of times.  I'm going to buy some herbal drops to help w/ his conjestion.  Oh, he's being a Brat as well.  Since he is on the boilded chicken, yams, and rice diet, he expects for me to feed him.  And when he doesn't want it, he turns his head.  Hubby says he's definitely my child.LOL

@stormy9973: It doesn't have to dip at all, but it should rise above your last 5 temps and stay there for at least 3 days to confirm O.  I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but so far it doesn't look like you've O'd.  Checking out the galleries on TCOYF or FF would be really helpful to get an idea of how it should look.

Re: temp dips.  Some ppl get them at O or at implantation, some people do not.  If you get one, it is typically just a one day dip.

I took my last clomid last night.  I started OPK's a couple of days ago because I've had two 23 day cycles in the last six to eight months. It sure is hard not peeing for 4 hours.  I'm supposed to start progestrone when I get a Positive OPK. Of course that would also help me know when to BD although I think we should probably just do every other night since I'm not sure the OPK's will work and I'd hate for the Clomid try to be a total waste.

It hasn't helped that I've been sick since last Thursday.

@kayakgirl73:  I'm just curious why you will take progesterone when you get the positive OPK.  My doctor was adamant about taking it 2 days after ovulating so it didn't interfere with ovulation.

The insturctions on the prescription bottle say to start taking at bedtime at ovulation. Hmm wonder if I should call the doc or pharmacist.

@stormy9973: I'm so sorry you're also having frustrations with ovulating on Clomid too. Did you get a blood test at all this cycle? I KNEW I hadn't ovulated, but went and got my blood checked anyway - and that just confirmed it for me. (Boo!)

    Thanks everyone for weighing in.

A few people have chimed in on the 75mg/100mg Clomid thing - most saying YES, take the 100mg! One said NO, take nothing, it's unmonitored - but let's face it... EVERYTHING we have done on Clomid so far has been unmonitored, bar the stupid 21 day blood test which is mostly useless anyway. :)

@Mrs Green Grass:  yeah...thats why I started the clomid, but when I mentioned it yesterday after the IUI, he was like (rather casually)  "yeah sure, why don't you start that on Friday?  Too much of it isn't going to hurt."  Maybe I should call the doc too!

@kayakgirl73:  I would call the doc.  If you get a positive OPK, it doesn't necessarily mean you will ovulate that day.  You might want to wait until you see a  temp spike in combination with the +opk, so you know you most likely ovulated.

So, I take my 5th day of Progesterone pills. About an hour to two hours afterwards, I just feel witchy. Poor DH has been doing so well with it.... when he does think it's funny to egg me on and see how nutty I get :P  I can't wait to get AF and start the clomid!

I guess I should check with her, but she's so darn hard to get ahold of and the office closes at noon on Friday's.

My temps are all over the place and I've forgotten temp twice this week, I think dour to illness and insomnia.
