Hi Bees! I’d love to hear your recommendations/advice for what info to include in a Destination Wedding invitation! We created a very detailed wedding website that provides our guests with info regarding the destination, accomodations and pricing, our travel agent contact info, ceremony location and time details, FAQs (attire, no children, etc), tour info, etc. We sent out save-the-dates that directed guests to our wedding website. I’m currently finalizing the wording on our invitations and RSVPs. I’m struggling on what, if any, info to include on the invitations other than the standard “join us at this place, this date, this time, followed by dinner an dancing, here’s the wedding website address”!! Should I include extra inserts in the invite explaining the same info that is on the website? (I’d like to avoid that if possible, there’s nothing worse than getting an invite that is like a book!)
Please let me know your thoughts, experience, advice!! Thank you in advance, it is much appreciated!

Don’t expect people to visit the website, many will but many won’t. Provide everything a guest would need to know about your wedding in the invitation, place/time/date, hotel reservations, transportation etc. About 25% of our guests were older without computers/internet and would never look at it and even those that do don’t always think about it.

jesbar5858: Even though it seems like you are putting down the same information that on the website…Still include important info like travel agent contact or website for the resort/hotel date time ect . I had a few people visit the website but most of them are calling me asking question for information that is on the website and on the invite .

Although our wedding is in town, I still put hotel and registry information on our information card – even though the same verbiage was also used on the website.
Our invites went out a week ago, and only about a handful of people have even viewed the website – so I’m glad we did the information card.

Kacie209: MrsBlake2015: MrsN14: Thank you all for your input! Sounds like Info cards are necessary. I’m going to include the basic necessity info and still direct them to the website for details if they need them. Fortunately we’ve had over 140 website views from our 130-person invite list which is more than I had expected. Thanks again!!
