We had a really informal engagement BBQ at my parents' house over the summer. I wasn't planning on decorating at all, but my ever-crafty mother threw together some nice last minute things. She bought some paper lanterns and hung then around the yard from branches (but you could easily do so from the ceiling indoors), sprinkled pretty table confetti around, and had strings of lights all over. It looked great and was very easy!
Grab some cute little bud vases from Ikea. Just a few flowers can spruce up any venue.

hi there! we are having a super informal engagement party at a bar in our city for our local friends. we'll save a bigger get together for our families, etc. this summer when we're with them. (our families are about 6 hours away).
we're just getting together at a local bar and buying a couple of rounds for our friends. the bar is really informal and i want to do a little something to spruce up the room we have reserved. i don't know if they allow candles or lighting, but does anyone have ideas on what i can do to make it seem a bit more "special?" any games, table ideas, anything at all? thanks!
