I’ve seen different bees recommending different ink pads. Can those of you who have done DIY rubber stamping projects please tell us what ink pads you tried and which worked the best? Was is vivid, faded, chalky, etc.? For those of us who are considering embossing, can you tell us what worked and what didn’t when doing your DIY embossing projects?

I purchased a pigment ink pad for my embossing projects and have been very happy with it. I honestly just went to Jo-Ann’s and Michaels and picked out a color that I liked. I have used many brands and don’t have a favorite. I just tend to buy whats on sale.
On a side note though, I tried to emboss with a regular ink pad that I got in the dollar section at Target and it worked just fine. I hace no way to know if this would work with all ink pads, but it made me realize not to worry too much about it. (And if you don’t like the ink pad you get, you can always take it back!)

The Target one worked for me too! I love the pigment ink pads sold at Hobby Lobby, those are GREAT!

I love the VersaMark Watermark Inkpad from Paper Source…especially when paired with clear embossing powder. Color Box ink pads worked really well for our invites.
Helpful hint: store your inkpads upside down to refresh the ink on the surface. After 100 envelopes, my 2 were getting worn out and I stumbled upon that tip online. It got me through the next 100!

VersaMark is the best if you are looking for clear embossing. If you want colored, use a pigment type of ink pad.
For non-embossing, I like to use Staz-On ink pads because they stamp crisp and clean.
