What location did you chose for your wedding/reception??

We're renting an estate in Palm Springs... 5 months to go and I'm fairly certain I wouldn't go this route again.  Having to decide on things like tables from across the country is ridiculous.

Where do you live?  It must be hard to do things from afar.  We are getting married at a winery in Temecula in August...we have less than 3 months to go....yikes!

We're in Washington DC area...we took a trip out there in September and did a week-long blitz of all the resorts and every vendor we could think of.  Things are coming together nicely now, but the first time we see our venue *in person* will be when we get there the Thursday before our wedding!  Scary!

A winery sounds beautiful - FH's family is from Oregon, so we thought about getting married there, but we couldn't depend on the weather.

Fifi...I am getting married at Falkner in Agust too!  08/08/08.  what date are you getting married?  are you in the Pinacle or on the lawn?  We're on the lawn.  Were you at the tasting on May 4?  I was there.

Hayley...Ponte is beautiful as well!  I just love the Temecula wine country!

Hi! I am getting married 9.7.08 at Falkner and was at the May 4 FREEZING COLD tasting too :)  I am an OC gal myself.  Fifi-are most of your vendors in Temecula or are you bringing them from LA?

Hi Erin.....OMG...It was FA-REEZING that night, wasn't it???  How did you come to chose Falkner???  Honestly, it was the only winery we looked at.  I was looking at different ones on line but liked Falkner's package....then when we went for our first meeting with Loretta, we really liked it! Our weddings are rolling around fast, huh?  Ours is 73 days and counting.

When it came to choosing Falkner it was because of the really great pricing and what the packages included (hello centerpieces!) and the fact that it did have the extended hour end time.  Loretta was very nice although a bit rushed when me and my best friend (since my fiance couldn't go) met with her, but I figured it would be ok.  So you are about 68 days out now!  That is so exciting! Are you upgrading your linens or using their centerpieces?  Have you had your last meeting yet to go over timelines and the layout of the ceremony?

we are planning on doing sierra lakes, but i think we are going to significantly downsize our wedding, so we might be looking at other venue options.

We just shot a wedding at the Mira Monte Resort in Indian Wells and it was a beautiful venue! Has all the amenities for OOT guests... cozy villas, spa, pool, restaurant... not to mention the lovely mountain scenery!

Erin, our final meeting isn't until July 7 (wedding is Aug 8).  Yes, we are using the centerpieces that come with the package (hurricane candles with the grapes leaf, etc) and I don't think I'm upgrading linens.  We are using ivory table clothes and I think a sage green napkin....I'll have to wait until our final consult to see what, if anything, looks better.  What date are you getting married?  Are you having a large wedding?
