So both his brother (& wife) and his sister will be at the ceremony & picture session, but not at the reception? That’s too bad, and I’d be disappointed, too. At least they’ll be there for the ceremony, which is the most important thing. I hope you don’t end up having to pay for meals that they won’t be eating because of their last-minute backing out…

Honestly I think that is completely unacceptable and my parents and FI’s parents would have a fit if one of their children skipped out on part of their sibling’s wedding.  What could possibly be more imporant that these people have to do that day than to celebrate their brother’s marriage?  These are supposed to be his closest people in the world and they are ditching out?  not ok at all.
