My best friend once bartended a wedding that repeatedly played songs about cheating.  And the whole dance floor was singing along at the top of their lungs.  LOL

 That video is hilarious!!!!

My FH’s Aunty is in a band that often play at weddings. She said that quite often couples will request what they think are love songs for things like first dance etc, but, when she reads the lyrics they are actually break up songs. Some people obviously don’t think too much.

I always remember reading on the Bee that someone’s friend choose “Lips of An Angel” as their first dance…. yeah probably not the best choice!

That video is hilarious! I would be horrified if any of those songs played, but .. it was a much needed laugh. 🙂

I went to a wedding where they did their first dance to the John Mayer song Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.   It was pretty weird to see them smiling and kissing while the words “This is the deep and dying breath of This love that we’ve been working on” were playing in the background.  Not a good choice.

We’re going down,
And you can see it too.
We’re going down,
And you know that we’re doomed.
My dear,
We’re slow dancing in a burning room.
Go cry about it – why don’t you?

That song has about the exact opposite sentiment from what you’d want.  It was so bizarre.

I always thought I Will Follow You Into The Dark was weird at weddings, but it didn’t top the couple who made their entrance to Jeff Buckley’s version of Hallelujah. Uh, NO.

I always thought it would awful if someone played “Betterman” by Pearl Jam as their first dance song.

“….she lies and says she’s in love with him….can’t find a better man….”

I love this! I told my FI we should play “Yesterday” by the Beatles cause I love that song. Then I remembered they lyrics and how it’s totally inappropriate.

@PetraArkanian:  Wow!

We like the “Looking for a good time” by Lady Antebellum and he wanted to do that as a first dance song because we had that type of relationship at first and it turned into something but I don’t think it would be appriopriate.

I said we could play it in the mix and have our own private moment to it.
