    Hi Bees,

I've ordered my dress (Elsie - Maggie Sottero).

When I tried it on, it was a little snug, and the sales lady didn't do up the the corset for that reason. But it didn't matter, the dress still looked good on me and I love it!!!

So, it's on order, but I've started thinking....how is this corset thing going to work? The dress has a "zipper over inner corset closure."

When the corset is tied, does it tighten the dress fabric around your waist? Or does it just squeeze you in and the fabric of the dress hangs naturally over it?

@blue_lion: My dress has an inner corset. It hasn't come in yet but from what I remember when I selected and tried it on, the corset cinched me in and the fabric draped naturally over it. You couldn't even tell I was wearing a corset but it did wonders for my figure and remarkably was very comfortable. I really liked it because it gave me the benefits of wearing the corset and no one would know I was wearing it. =)

Mine also has an inner corset. It's done up on the inside with hooks like those found on a bra. It really tightens up the dress at my waist, love it.

My dress had an inner-corset. It squeezed me in so the dress zipped regularly. My dad saw the corset on me before the dress was zipped and he said it looked like I couldn't breathe, but it was the skin on my back sorta folded in...you couldn't see it when I was zipped, and I could definitely breathe!

I tried on dresses with inner corsets and I loved how it looked- the cinch in a waist is amazing and something that even a regular lace up corset has hard time replicating. I ended up with a regular lace up corset dress but if I had an option of the same dress with inner corset and zip up I would be all over that.

Does anybody know if any dress can have an inner corset saw in by a seamstress or the dress has to be particular structure already premade for an inner corset? Anybody added an inner corset to a dress that didn't have one?

Thanks to everyone for the clarification. :) I'm glad there are so many positive remarks about inner corsets; makes me feel even better about my choice.
