I need your opinion on something. :)  I have a certain amount of credit (around $550 or something) from my photographer to get something for the wedding.  The main choices I'm debating are:

    - DVD movie of our wedding/engagement photos set to music that we select with a professionally made case and all of that.  Very slick looking.

    OR

    -  Prints from a pro-quality shop

I'm struggling with what to decide because the DVD is something I really cannot get anywhere else (since I don't have the software, etc) and I think they do a very nice job with it.  I am not sure I can envision myself pulling the thing out and looking at it.  I'm going to get albums so why would I look at this dvd?  There is something to be said about having it set to music though.  I just don't know.

Perhaps there's something I'm not thinking of here though?

Any of you get this sort of thing and really like it?

Are you getting any of your digital images (negitives) to print on your own at all? If you are - I would go with the prints.

The DVD isn't something I would really sit and watch a whole lot - I'm more of a frame the pictures and hang them up kinda gal. But that's just me ;-)

Also you don't need to really buy a program to make your own slideshow, a lot of computers come with a program and making a slide show of phtotos set to mucis is really, really easy and not something worth spending $500 on IMO. Also you can download free trials of programs that are good long enough to finish one.

Yeah, I'm getting the rights to all images and stuff so I can get prints / create albums, etc. I am leaning toward the print credit for exactly the reasons you've said... I'm just trying to figure out if there's something about this DVD thing I haven't thought about.

BTW, I don't know if you saw my message in another thread of yours--I'm also in MN. :)

Oops, Sweeney, I accidentally PM'd you instead of replying here--I didn't realize that's what I had done until I had already submitted it.
