Has anyone else dealt with their caterer being extremely flaky?
My fiance and I initially met her about 15 months before our wedding. We discussed menu options and prices and decided to book her. Although we sent her a deposit shotly after meeting with her, it took almost a year for her to send us a contract, and now with our wedding quickly approaching, her lack of communication is very concerning to me. I sent her an email with various questions about 5 months before the wedding and it took several weeks to hear back from her. I recently sent another email following up, and I still haven’t received any information from her and she has not returned my phone call. It’s reached the point now that I’m worries she is not going to show up and I don’t know what to do. Do I keep pestering her until she finally talks to me?

@fauxtogirl: I would call her again. I’ve noticed that some vendors are more prompt with phone calls than emails.

I would just constantly try to stay in contact with her. I have the same situation with my photographer and every few days I come up with a new “question” to ask her that basically reinforces what time and when she has to be there. That way I know she still has me in the back of her mind. At first when she wasnt responding I called from my cell phone (she didn’t answer) and then from a phone at my work that has a number she wouldn’t know and she picked up immediately. I think she was a little embarassed and has been prompt with my ever since.
Also make sure you have a great contract so that if she doesn’t show up that you are able to get your money back.

Different phone number – great idea! I feel like a needy girlfriend or something, but she’s making me resort to desperate measure…
I don’t think there is anything in our contract about a refund.. but hopefully it doesn’t resort to that!
