Ok brides. One unique thing about all the Bees here is the fact that we are a friendly board that helps each other out, and the other great thing is that we all love great style but even more if it comes with a good price!
Since the recession is still giving us issues somewhat, let’s see how you can find local or unique inspiration for the big day from not the usual places. Sometimes thinking outside of the box is also smart thinking for the wallet too! Show us your inspiration from unusual places..
I’ll give an example. Last week I was shopping in Kroger and I found some great steals on their flowers..and some unusual vases there that would be easy to incorporate for a DIY arrangement.
Today I got some cooking magazines and lo and behold– Some inspiration abounds I found an idea in my new summer entertaining and cooking magazine. You get a hurricane vase or a uniquely shaped vase, add a pillar candle in the center. Put some real sand around it and top it off with some seashells! Voila! An easy peasy cheapy centerpiece..and to kick it up a notch, throw in some flowers on a second vase! (pic 1)
Second random inspiration came from my Sandra Lee Semi Homemade mag I love her. She rocks! (and T loves my first attempt at her recipe for Peach cobbler too!) She actually has a downlodeable template for it too– Flower cones And a few othergorgeous centerpiece ideas..in my COOKING magazine??? What a bonus!
Here’s the Mayday Flower Cones instruction sheet first..then the template.
And here’s another unique idea! Chandelier centerpieces! And more DIY goodness!
http://www.semihomemademag.com/PDFs/chandelier_centerpiece.pdf In this cool centerpiece, she used reclaimed chandeliers (think goodwill or on the cheap), repainted them, and turned them into a re-useable centerpiece and for the flowers? She used tiny roses found yep…AT THE GROCERY STORE; I’m thinking a bee here, maybe this one, will try this!
