I tried on my dress over a year ago (first dress to try!) and finally bought it in June knowing it was the one. After watching the Oscars, I felt the need of slipping into my dress..
My dress has off shoulder sleeves that need to be majorly altered (way too big), but my issue with them is that while I love the look of them, they are very restricting which sucks because I will be in my dress for almost 12 hours. Also, my fiance and I are learning how to dance and when I clipped my sleeves I could barely lift my arm to do a dance turn with my imaginary dance partner. I love the look of the off shoulder sleeves but I think I would be more comfortable as strapless.. but maybe I could make some clip on sleeves for the ceremony and remove them afterwards.
Also, I have been toying around with the length of my dress since I’m paranoid that it is too short. What do y’all think of the mock pin up job that I did with it? I would have my mom create a pretty tulle underlay for the bottom.
I would love suggestions and comments 🙂 thanks!!!

I think you look lovely. And I think you should make it strapless and leave the rest alone.

I love the off-shoulder sleeves, but you need to be comfortable wearing them the entire day! If that isn’t possible, I’d say go with strapless – it looks good as well.

I love the bottom pinned up like that, and I also think it’s a lot more flattering strapless with the pinned-up bottom. Another thing you might consider is to do a looser off the shoulder strap(s) with some sort of detail, flowers or ruffle or something.

@noritake22: Thanks for your input!! It really is the perfect dress for me!
@Danish_Student: I really do love the off shoulder sleeves too.. that’s what drew me to the dress since the Fiance made a comment years ago that I liked a dress with a little bit something on the should.
@elusivephoto: Thanks so much for those photos! I think a looser sleeve would be less constricting & I love the detail on those dresses! Also, I do think the pin-up is quite attractive.. thanks for your input!

Are you wearing your wedding shoes in the pictures? If so, the length looks perfect as is.

Are you wearing your shoes in the first photo? Because if you are, then it’s not too short at all.
I like the off the shoulder look too, but understand how it could be constricting. Does the one shoulder feel better? I think the one-shoulder look is very chic – but the dress actually looks nice all three ways, so go with what feels most comfortable to you.

If going to strapless would make you happy, I say go for it. But I’d leave the rest of it alone. I’m guessing the simplicity is what drew you to the dress in the first place.

I like the look of your dress so much more as a strapless. And I think the pinning makes it more modern and pretty. Go for it!
