I think you need to keep in mind that you really don't have that much to lose. I haven't seen any of your prior posts about this so I don't know what your goal is... but you look pretty thin to me so I can't imagine you need to lose much. The last little bit is always the hardest, truly.
Thanks! I am wanting to lose about 20 lbs. I always hear that I carry my weight really well but I also have the dreaded belly fat that I despise. I guess I get caught up in the fact that one of my BM's is dieting and all she is doing is taking meds from the doctor and only works out maybe once a week but she is dropping pounds like crazy but she also has able 40 lbs on me too. Thanks again for the advice!
Girl, I am SO with you! I just started in earnest as well, and I just want to look down and be happy with what I see, already! It is going to happen as long as we keep being good!! It really really will!
I understand how you feel but it is really a slow process. You want to loose weight in a healthy way, not just as fast as possible. I think you just have to look at other things like how your muscles feel, and how you start to look in a few weeks.
Try to focus on how much healthier you FEEL. I've been eating better and going to the gym more often and I just feel more energetic and healthy. It helps keep me motivated while I'm waiting for the scale to catch up! ;)
I can relate. When I was heavier than I am now, I started eating healthier and working out. I used to weigh myself daily and wonder why the scale wasn't cooperating immediately. I just want to look as good as I feel when I'm eating healthy and losing weight. Then, all of a sudden I started seeing results. It was an instant high, but it didn't happen after a week. It was more like 3-4 weeks later. Also, if you're working out a lot, you might be replacing fat with muscle, so don't look at the scale. And give youself a few weeks before your body starts to change. I started to work out again, to tone and lose a few lbs. I have about 6 lbs to go. Its not going anywhere but I'll keep trying! What helps me is thinking about how good it will feel to reach my goal. Its so worth it. And it will happen! Just keep truckin' :)
Is there a major reason you need to lose weight? Can you fit into your dress? I mean you can wear Spanx or Assets..
I personally need to lose weight to fit into my dress. It's really hard for me to "diet" as I've never had to "diet' before. I like to go on walks for exercise. People say I look like I've lost weight but I haven't weighed myself. It's hard to lose weight but you're wedding isn't till 6 months so I think you could do it! Just keep a positive attitude.
Story of my life! I was feeling good about myself this morning, checkin' myself out in the mirror and thought, "oo i'm gonna try on those pants" (dress pants that I was able to wear in July but haven't been able to fit in SINCE) and they won't even close. Sigh.
Thanks so much for the advice and encouragement ladies! You have no idea how much it helps me and brings me back to reality and out of my little discouraging slump.
As for a major reason, no not really. I mean I have things in the upcoming future that are pushing me to strive and what not, the wedding being one, summer fast approaching, and I am having surgery on May 20 and I want to be in pretty decent shape since I will not be able to really work out for awhile, that am I have always heard the better shape you are in before surgery the better your recovery is.
@ejs - ugh! Thats what I am going through. Someone times I hate the secrets my closet has to offer.
I just have to keep telling myself it will just take time, the crash diets of lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks are horrible for your body and your not losing fat. Seeing as how fat is what I want to lose, I must keep my head forward and ignore those dang things. Its so discouraging though!
i totally understand how you feel, i started my regular 5x workout regiment about a month ago... and if anything i've gained weight! i expected this, as i didn't really change my diet and i know i've been building muscle.
now that i'm feeling stronger, i am trying to curtail what i eat into modified, healthy portions. i've been cutting out snacking, overeating, and eating when im not hungry.
hang in there!!
I feel the same way.. I am working out, eating better.. and nothing off "sigh"

I know that it has only been like 4 days since I have really put the hammer down on losing weight but I am not seeing any results and it is terribly discouraging! I am such a instant gratification person, like i dnt like buying stuff online bc i want it now and dont like waiting for it to arrive lol. I know it takes time but I have been eating really good and sticking to the 5 small healthy veggie filled meals a day and working out like a mad-man (woman actually but i digress) and still nothing but sore muscles and a boring pallet =( I am trying to keep my head up about it bc I know I need to lose the weight the healthy way but ugh crash dieting is starting to look better and better =( How do you ladies get over this?
