Instant sweating with alcohol ingestion…

It’s called vasodilation. Alcohol can cause the widening of blood vessels in some people, which causes increased bloodflow to the skin and thus heating & sweating. If your sweating is excessive it could be an alcohol intolerance.

@Jas00:  Sweating itself is a symptom of alcohol intolerance, but it is classified as excessive sweating and is often coupled with symptoms like nasal congestion, flushing of the face, hives, worsening of asthma (if the condition pre-exists), headache, nausea and low blood pressure.

If you’re having just sweating, I’d still bank on it being vasodilation and not an intolerance.

@Jas00:  Absolutely. My dad is diabetic and he can handle one glass of wine before he’s out cold.

@Jas00:  I have the same reaction, but only with wine. Just a few sips and my face gets flushed and I start sweating. Nothing else happens though, so I tend to brush it off.
