i think the bride gets it back! My FI gave back the one he caught! (I was moh for that wedding and I know it was $$$!)
Just have your fiance go get it from the guy that caught it. Or have him give him a gift certificate or something in exchange for the garter.
Can you wear two garters? I've heard a lot of people wear a keepsake and a throw-away together. In fact, I'm pretty sure a lot of graters nowadays come in this set. You could buy another cheap one and have your Fi take off both but only toss the cheap one at the wedding. Then keep the one your mom bought!
you can sometimes get sets with two. one to keep and one to throw. i am buying two for that reason. usually the tossingone is smaller andnot as fancy
The one she got didn't come in a set, and I have no idea where she got it! ALso the wedding is in 4 days..... I just found out from my mom about the cute garter!

No way in H-E-L-L I would do it! I think it's sooo weird and I hate the whole gest of it.
I bought my garter at the last minute at JoAnn's! It cost me $2.99. Check out your local craft store, it will have garters you can use for a "throw" garter.
We aren't doing a garter toss because 1. there won't be a ton of single guys there & we wouldn't want to alienate those that were. And 2. We're an extremely private couple! My FI going up my skirt in front of my friends and family would be horribly traumatic for me. lol I'd much rather save that for after the wedding night. Actually, the most anyone has seen from the 2 of us is a peck, hand holding & a touch here or there. I always wonder if people think we're prudes? lol But thats another thread...
Ours didn't come in a set I just bought two if the same. They have nothing to do with our colors but they 1st Cav. the unit my FH went to Iraq with so it's special.

So my mom got me this ~adorable~ garter that is in camouflage (my FH is a hunter) and I want him to take it off at the reception
BUT I would like to keep it. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do?
