FH and I aren’t really into dancing and we aren’t planning on having dancing at the reception.
Several people have told us that if we aren’t having dancing, then there’s no point in really having music, but I’m not big on silence. I imagine I’d pick enough music for at least 1.5 hours of reception time just to be safe.
Problem? I’m dreadfully horrible at picking music. I’m sticking with instrumental only, and have been looking at the Vitamin String Quartet for FH and my more alternative choices. When I started looking at music pieces for the ceremony, I recieved several comments about my choices sound more like funeral pieces than anything else. I’m not a really traditional person, so Canon and D is something I’m trying to avoid.
My tastes? I am in love with Comptine d’un autre ete l’apres midi and want to walk to it. I think it’s a lovely song, but everyone says it sounds depressing.
Is anyone else forgoing the really traditional music? For the ceremony or the reception?
