So my husband was finally back to work today since being off for the wedding. While at work he filled out necessary papers and let me know I am now on his insurance plan (I think I still need to sign some papers though). Also while he was at work today I got the BFP. So now I am nervous that the insurance may consider this a pre-existing condition.
Anyone have any experience with this?

@sarahlyn2626: I didn’t but my friend did. They wouldn’t cover her since she was already pregnant when she went on her husbands insurance. She was 4 weeks pregnant at the time. She ended up having to go onto state insurance.

@mwitter80: Crap…well I guess we will see. I am just 4 weeks now but he has Blue Cross Blue Shield Group PPO, so I think there is hope.

Because you were added on his insurance due to marriage, it’s shouldn’t be considered as pre-existing. Officially you should be on his insurance on 10.1.11 because that’s when you got married.
I had to have a major surgery a month after our wedding date. In my case, since I already had been taking care of the issue 6 months prior, it was covered. I actually called his insurance and asked.
