Scou:  I highly recommend Jewelers Mutual/perfectcircle.com  I got my ring from ashadiamonds.com which is the same company as moissaniteco.com.  At the time they offered a year’s worth of Jewelers Mutual free with purchase.  I’ve kept the policy ever seen.  Earlier this year I managed to crack one of the diamonds in my halo; the insurance took care of it without any issues.

Do you have a home or renters insurnace?  I’m not sure about renters, but home owners insurance typically comes with upto $1500 insurnace for jewelery so you wouldn’t nee to buy extra insurance unless it cost more than that.

pinkshoes:  Keep in mind that home owners insurance typically do not cover loss or repairs.

NovaRising:  eh, loss wasn’t really a concern for me.  I tend to keep track of items that expensive.  Repairs are typically not even worth claiming since they are not really that expensive and would raise rates probably more than the repair even cost.

pinkshoes:  See that’s the blessing of perfect circle insurance.  Claims do not raise rates.  So right now I pay $33 a year for the policy, but I had a repair of $275 shortly before renewal.  Well actually my policy was $31 a year, but I upgraded my center stone which raised my policy by only $2.  Even if I never have another mishap with my rings that require major repairs like a damaged side diamond (highly unlikely) my one repair along paid for my policy for just over 7 years.

I’ve never lost an expensive item before, but I believe in never saying never.  I’ve read too many horror stories of ladies who have lost their wedding sets here in the hive, btd.com, and qvc jewelry forums to rule it out as a possiblity for me.
