Are you talking about the colored flashes? That’s called fire!

Yep, the fact that you got 3 different colored fire flashes all at the same time and captured on camera is because of moissanite’s high dispersion (fire). This is its tendency to bend white light coming in and send it back out as a color.

Double refraction, or bifringence, is something else. It means you can see a double image of the facets in the stone when you look into it from an angle.

I have never seen a moissanite in person, but yours is very beautiful!  Cool

You can only notice the double refraction at certain angles looking through the girdle of the stone. What you’re seeing is the fire of moissanite. To put it in perspective, moissanite has twice the fire of a diamond.  I loooove all the rainbow flashes. Some do, some don’t, but I think it’s gorgeous. The stones look like little strobe lights to me.

Wow! Great picture, I love the sparkle & flashes of color moissanite throws. I am currently waiting to have one of these lil beauties on my finger. Btw, BEAUTIFUL ring.

That, right there, is why I love moissanite so. 🙂

My center stone is a pink moissanite and I also get the rainbow flashes but I just wanted to share this blurry pic that kinda surprised me..it shows the rainbow flashes coming from the diamond halos as well and not just the moissanite
