When I think peacock, I think jewl tones, but in having a rather dramatic color in our own master bedroom, I would advise to go with a more subtle or neutral color. Then maybe just add one accent wall in purple or another blue or green, if you really want color. I just really like to change my bedding often, and it is becoming increasingly hard to outfit a bed and get curtains to work with dark alge green walls (as much as I love it). My husband refuses to re-paint it, so I’m living with it for now!

I think you can get away with a lot of color in the guest bath; again I think jewel tone because of your "peacock" wording. This Young House has a good thoery, though, about using only a few of the same colors throughout for cohesiveness. They just did a good post on the perfect colors:

I agree with pp. I would go with a calming rather than dramatic color in the master.
