Here I am.... I'm from dominican Republic, 8 years married to a wonderful man, two kids Angel 6 and Moira 2 year old. And one of these days we're gonna marry by church, it will be a small ceremony, but who says I can't take ideas from all the big weddings you have.
Besitos,
Yes, I do. I live in germany and I am a german girl. And I am married to an american. I couldnt be happier.
Heya, I'm a New Zealand bride, marrying my sweetheart this coming October in NZ, honeymooning in LA and the Caribean, I can't wait!!
Great post! I've often wondered this too.
I live in the uk. My fiance and I are british but planning our April 2009 wedding in Miami.... I love the creativity of this and other US wedding sites.
I've always wondered if there was any international readers.
Both my fiance and I are Scottish and we're getting married here but I love the variety of ideas here. The UK websites aren't anywhere near as good as many of the US sites. Some of the ideas aren't really transferable but it's great eye candy!
I'm Canadian, but I don't know if that is really considered to be "international" by people from the states. :)
It's lovely to have such a diverse community here on WB! I'm in Hong Kong until early January, so I'm "international" at least until then, right?! ;-)
I am from Slovakia, but reading Weddingbee in NYC where I live with my American fiance. I hope "international" girl will become bee soon :-)
I am a Canadian living in Scotland and marrying a Scottish man there in July.
yay! Its so nice to see so many people from so many different places. Planning a wedding from abroad certainly has its challenges!
I'm an American living in Germany, marrying my German fiance in the US, we are having a long engagement due to the issues of planning and financing such a wedding and in the hopes of making it easier for the Germans to plan their travel so I've been on Weddingbee for a while and I'll be sticking around until at least Fall 2010! IT's great to see other International readers!
ArmyWife, where in Germany are you? I live in Mannheim and know there's a lot of Army nearby.
Me too-- I'm an American living in the UK (Nottingham) with my British fiance (we met here last year). Our wedding will be in Maryland in October 2009. Look me up if you ever make it to Notts!
I'm a Malaysian, and my Husband to be in 3 weeks time is an American, and both of us are based in the Middle East right now. We'll be travelling to Malaysia on New Year to get ready for the wedding ;) Weddingbee has been really inspirational!
I'm an American reader, in the US, but my fiance is British, still in the UK, and we haven't decided where we're having our wedding yet!! It's early in the planning stages, but I'm finding so many great ideas here on WeddingBee.
Any advice out there on which would be the better place to have our wedding? US or UK? I've been married before, but we just did the JP thing, no real wedding. My fiance and I want to do it right, but we have a miniscule budget. I'm thinking it might be cheaper here, but as he's never been married before, it's really important that his family and friends are there. Neither group could really afford to fly to each other's country, so it's his family or mine. Suggestions appreciated!!
MsDodi in my opinion weddings are cheaper in the US. My fiance and I are british but are getting married in Miami next April, we are having a family celebration when we return to England and that is costing almost as much as our actual wedding. I am finding that vendors in the US are more flexible which allows you to be creative with your budget, whereas in the UK there are so many restrictions and minimum charges at venues it gets expensive very quickly.
If you do decide to get married in the UK and need any info or help, just get in touch... I love all things wedding related!
Message to jhphi, MsUsUk, jinx, Kakita and all those other UK residents, maybe we should arrange to meet up, somewhere in the middle!
ROFL, I'm so dreading the left-hand driving!! But my lovely fiance is a cabbie, so maybe that won't be so much of a problem... "Honey... can you take me to the....?"
Slicey19 I live nearby Stuttgart. Here are some bases too. But I've been to Mannheim a few times. Especially to meet other german spouses.
Hanmay, what a great idea! I've actually met jhphi because I used to live in Nottingham and it was good times.
I've completed all the planning for our wedding and have tons of advice. Planning a wedding in the UK is more expensive and can be a little bit restrictive, but the key is to not care about what they think is "right" and "traditional" and insist on getting what you want. Plus if you don't ask, you don't know. I'm planning a budget wedding and so far everything has been relatively easy.
I don't know how I missed this thread! My fiancé and I are both american, but we're living and working in Chile as funcionarios (kind of like diplomats). The wedding's in the states - planning from Chile is a bit of a challenge!
I'm American, living in Ireland, engaged to an Irish guy. I carry an Irish passport as well as an American passport because my dad was born in Ireland. We're getting married in Connecticut and having a Mass to bless our marriage followed by a reception two weeks after the US wedding. LOTS to plan!
I somehow missed this thread, too... I'm an American marrying a Frenchman. We met in Paris, have lived in here for 9 years and will be marrying here. So, my family and friends will be traveling to the wedding. I think a decent amount of people are still coming from my side though, my mom thinks around 35. So considering we are trying to keep it to 120 people max, that's not bad a ratio! We opted not to have a second reception in the US. Mostly for cost, but also because we figure the most important will come, and those who can't make it we can see next time we're home for dinner or a casual bbq type thing.
American marrying a Swiss man here! We're planning on living in Switzerland pretty much forever. We love it here.
I'm an American living in London, UK, marrying a Swedish guy -- wedding in 1 year in Ohio.
@Hunterstorme - where do you live in Switzerland? We have been thinking about possibly moving to Zurich..

I'm just curious how many of us are out there? Do you check weddingbee from another country? Are you or your future husband/wife a non US citizen?
Give yourself a shout out
