So, I am booking a bunch of flights for a 6 week trip I am taking in Asia in August/September (yes, lucky me, it is to celebrate the end of law school). While this trip is unrelated to wedding stuff, I just thought I would share.
I have been SHOCKED at how reasonable the flights are right now. I have found a four stop flight (San Francisco to Beijing then to Vietnam then to Tokyo then back) for about $1700. If I just did round trip, I have seen flights from San Francisco to Beijing for under $1000.
Granted, I’m flying out of a major international airport, these are still pretty amazing, based on past experience.
My advice, therefore, is to look around at a bunch of websites, but feel pretty confident about booking for your international honeymoon now/soon.
So go book!

a GREAT website is airfarewatchdog.com also, mondays are the best days to book flights…prices are often cheaper!

Yea!! We’re HMing in Puerto Rico … so, not exactly international, but still – it’s exotic and far away! Hoping for a good deal! We got a certain amount from the mother of the groom for the honeymoon and rehearsal dinner — and are ending up spending quite a bit on the rehearsal dinner.

I wanted to add one thing. Looking at a lot of the restrictions, it seems that some of the airlines’ sales are ending Apr 30 or may 1 so you might need to book soon.

@monitajb: if youre traveling in Asia, a good airline to use is airasia. It’s a malaysian budget airline with lots of destinations around Asia, even to paris and england. They dont charge as much as major airlines do but it allows you to stretch your budget so you can travel and go to more places.
