Happy International Womens Day ladies!

What a great day to celebrate the achievements of women and feminism, and to focus on what still needs to be done to reach full equality.

While we may have the right to vote, own property, go to school, be working mothers, keep our maiden names if we choose, use birth control if we wish to, etc. There is still so much more to be done.

The reality is that women STILL earn roughly 80 cents to a mans dollar.

Worldwide women do two thirds of the work, recieve 10% of the pay, and own 1% of the land.

80% of the worlds refugees are women.

Women make up two thirds of the 1 billion plus adults with no access to basic education.

Seriously, though, I didn't even know tomorrow (today already for you OP, and some others) was International Women's Day. Cool. I do the whole 'I am woman, hear me roar' thing every day anyway, so maybe I'll just roar a little louder :)

To celebrate Mr. Roux is being kicked out of the house for the night and I'm having some girlfriends over for a bit of a potluck dinner party. I can't wait! I'm making my famous parmasman and herb crusted roast lamb. And cosmopolitans of course!
