I started off with asking the caterer what they would be willing to provide for the amount of money that I want to spend and that usually gets the conversation off.
I would also be proactive and get copies of their menus and prices beforehand, THEN you'll probably have more of an idea of what you want and questions based on that. My caterer also had a list of things to go over when we first met him, like info on tables, chairs, place settings, plated v. stations etc. Have fun!

So I'm trying to set up appointments with two potential caterers and I'm not quite sure what to expect from the first meeting. How much should I know about what I want to do going in? What generally goes on? Just want to be prepared and not quite sure what to expect.
