- Wedding: December 2010
Are there any brides out there that are planning/have planned/have attended a very small wedding in Philadelphia (Center City, maybe Germantown/Wissahickon)?
We’re hoping to have an intimate, immediate family-and-closest-friends-only wedding of about 40 (or so) guests on a Sunday mid-morning, and I’d love to hear about ceremony and/or reception venues that really worked for this size wedding. Any good or bad reviews of venues that are appropriate for such a small group?
We were hoping to rent a room/space in a great location in center city for about 2 hours maximum to host the ceremony, followed by a brunch at a restaurant. I’m pretty good to go on restaurants, but am having trouble with the ceremony locations. Many of the places I’ve contacted are around $1000 for the rental fee, and I’d have a hard time paying that for two hours on a Sunday morning.
I’m already pretty aware of the standards (Kimmel, Constitution Center, Colonial Dames, Bartrams Gardens) … So really, any ideas on unique, historical houses, galleries, etc type of spaces would be SO helpful! All of those off the beaten track type places.
Thanks for any and all ideas!
