- Wedding: November 2012
Hi there …. I’ve posted 31 times & never officially introduced myself (I swear I’m not a snob, just have a brain like Swiss cheese, full of holes & I forget things all the time!! MrN says I never forget stuff he does that annoys me but I forget everything else!).
So …. I’m getting married September 22nd, 2012 in Muskoka, Ontario Canada, it’s a wonderfully beautiful area, filled with small town charm, lakes, trees, fresh air & so much more!! (I should explain that Muskoka is an area with many towns, a lot of people assume Muskoka is a town but it’s not).
I’m a Country Gal at heart even though we live in the city, I lived in the Muskoka area from Grade 5 – Grade 10 & then moved to the “city” with my parents (just outside Toronto) and as fate would have it I met MrN through a friend & he grew up in the same small town I lived in but we didn’t know each other as I am 5 years older and when I was in Grade 10 he was in public school and therefore our paths never crossed. It turns out he lived 2 blocks from me, and all his current friends are older than him … same age as me & guess what, I know ALL of them (I even casually dated his best friend when I was 16).
MrN is a Country Boy, he loves big trucks, country music, 4 wheeling, ice fishing, snow mobiles, mud tires, etc … he hates being indoors. He is old fashioned (opens doors for me, carries groceries, pumps gas, etc) and is very laid back and down to earth, he is truly the man I dreamed of, he treats me with respect & tells me all the time how beautiful I am and that he fell in love with my personality (I am pretty awesome) and that my beauty was a bonus.
So down to the fun stuff …. our wedding!!!
As I said earlier, our date is 9*22*12 and we’re doing a Country Chic theme … I’m using mason jars (I’m having a hard time getting enough of them & don’t want to buy a bunch) so my friends are collection jars in various sizes for me & I’m going to paint words around the bottom edge (I have a stencil that has words like “love”, “cherish”, “forever”, “family”, “xoxo”, etc) & place candles in them as well as 1 with some wild flowers and they’ll be our centerpieces + I’ll have some randomly around room to set the mood. We’re doing homemade Cranberry Sauce favours (bought fresh cranberries right from the marsh), we’re having a bagpiper pipe us out of the church, I’ve already bought my dress … our colours are Wine & Sapphire blue (dresses are from David’s bridal for the girls & they’re version of the colours are Sangria & Horizon). That’s all I can think of for now … if you got questions let me know. 🙂
Nice “meeting” everyone!!
