Hey I thought this would be a cool idea to do for all the October 2012 brides to Introduce themselves. I'm sure more brides will come along and I thought this would be nice for them as well.
So I'll start:
When is your wedding date? October 20, 2012
How old are you/FI? (only if you wanna share) I'm 31 and FI is turning 37 this coming Saturday.
How did you meet? Through Facebook teehee, ramdonly
What do you/ FI do for a living? I'm a bilingual customer service representative and have my own cake business and my FI is a dump truck driver.
What is your theme? We are going with a Fall wedding theme.
What are your colors? Mainly Reds, off white to contrast with the Red, and then fall colors.
How did he propose? We went on vacation last year to Portugal and he surprised me in front of Portugal's first king's castle, it was the best day of my life.

I am 27 and my fiancé is 28
How did you meet?
We met at college. We lived in the same apartment building and he made his ’move’ about 6 months after he moved in.
What do you/ FI do for a living?
I work at a large university and he works for an entertainment company as a director of sales
What is your theme?
No theme per se. We are getting married in a historic mansion so we are trying for a casual elegance to match the surroundings
What are your colors?
Shades of white, soft grays, silver, and natural greens (for the florals)
How did he propose?
He meant to take me to the park near the building we lived in when we met but it was raining the day he picked up the ring (it was supposed to rain most of the week). He couldn’t wait so he proposed, in our kitchen, 5 minutes after he got out of his car from the jewelers.

How did you meet?
In college, the third day of my freshman year. But we didn't start dating for a whole year after that.
What do you/ FI do for a living?
I'm a neuroscientist (5th year graduate student right now), he's an aerospace engineer.
What is your theme?
Hm....we don't have one :-)
What are your colors?
We're thinking copper, brown, gold and ivory (or dusty rose if I can get FI to agree with pink). It changes regularly though.
How did he propose?
Well, as it turns out I kept ruining his proposal plans and he was becoming very impatient. So the day before my birthday last year he bought a pound of my favorite candy (sour belts, they're very hard to come by up here so i'm always super excited when he gets them for me) and put the bag on my dresser for me to find when I came home. I open the bag, and there's a ring box on top of my candy. I opened the box, but there was nothing in there (how rude), and when I turned around he was kneeling with the ring asking me to marry him. Nothing too fussy, but cute.

How old are you/FI? (only if you wanna share) i'm 28, he just turned 31. we'll be 29 and 32 on our wedding day.
How did you meet? OKC, baby. :D it was pure chance. (okcupid.com, not oklahoma city, lol.)
What do you/ FI do for a living? i'm currently unemployed. :( i was laid off a long time ago and due to circumstances and the poor job market, i've been unable to find work, in spite of some massive education. i'll be moving to MN in a week or so, so i'm hoping for better prospects there than i have in this no-man's land. FI is a web developer by day and a musician for fun.
What is your theme? um, i don't think we really have one. maybe music? dunno. just stuff that's "us".
What are your colors? haven't solidified colors yet, other than the use of blue. maybe purple too?
How did he propose? he hasn't yet, officially. we're waiting for the right moment to make it official, which has more than a little to do with minimizing the likelihood of my parents not taking us seriously while also minimizing the wait to exchange engagement rings.

How did he propose? On Valentine's Day 2011 2 days before our 2nd anniversary. In my car :). It was an awesome day.

HOW DID YOU MEET : We actually met when we were 18 through mutual friends... i wasnt that keen on him though (hee hee) & i guess you would say that fate brought us together again :)
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING : I am actually a cook for family business & a fulltime mother to a 5year old little girl, FI is a panel beater.... but we are actually moving to auzzie where he will be joing the mining boom
WHATS YOUR THEME : Well i wouldn't say we have a theme... just laid back
WHAT ARE YOUR COLOURS : I "THINK" we are doing black white purple gray & silver
HOW DID HE PURPOSE : Well our annv was on the 7th which is also my favourite number.... and he did it when i was sleeping ha ha i woke up in the morning thinking what the.......... is that on my finger had prob like 3 looks and realised what it was FI was still asleep. I think it was so well done as any little thing he would have done i would have guessed what he was up to so i was surprised and shocked that he got one on me ha ha.... ( it took him 2 hours to slip the ring on my finger ha ha every time he touched me id wake up or grab my hand & hold it so he couldnt get it ha ha

We are both 23.
How did you meet?
In middle school science class. He has loved me since we were about thirteen. Several times thoughtout high school we kissed but I would then run scared. We had a falling out our freshman year of college and did not speak until we ran into each other at a bar during Christmas vacation senior year of college.
What do you/ FI do for a living?
I am working as a softwear engineer and he is an aerospace engineer.
What is your theme?
Mostly just a fall theme with pumpkins and fall leaves ( I hope the leaves cooperate with me! )
Maybe polka dots since I love them, but I'm still working on that :)
What are your colors?
Plum purple and fall colors.
How did he propose?
The pre-proposal was very cute so I will start there. We were in the mall one day eating on a bench looking at a store with signs for engagement rings on sale. He just looked at me and said, "We should start looking at those, huh? " It took me by surprise. A few weeks later we looked at rings together so he knew what I liked.
The actual proposal was after we had a home-cooked dinner of steak and crab legs. He said he was going to the mall and left. Then he came back in, not even two minutes later, and got down on one knee in my living room and asked me to be his wife. It was perfect for us. :)

I am 22. He is 25
We met in college. A proff. I had during my freshman year introduced us.
I am a forester, basically I manage forest for private land owners. My FI is an iron worker.
I don't have a theme, although I guess it could be fall since we are getting married in Vermont.
Forest green and eggplant purple.
He proposed the night before valentines day. I had a job interview close to his parents house a few days later and we were leaving on valentines day to go stay with them. He didn't want to propose on valentines or near it, but his step mom knew he had the ring and he was affriad she would let it slip if he didnt propose. He proposed at home after cooking me a nice dinner. Nothing real fancy but deffinitly fit us. I was completly suprised but extremly happy.

How did you meet? We used to work together at a hotel about 6 years ago!!
What do you/ FI do for a living? I work at two companies, doing purchasing, logistical work, accounting and sales. FI is a Exc. Chef.
What is your theme? Since we both love the fall, that's why we are having a fall themed wedding.
What are your colors? Wine/Burnt Orange
How did he propose? It was december of last year, we went to see christmas lights at one of the parks in our city, went on a carriage ride. Then he went for a walk and over one of the bridges, he stopped and said...hug me to keep me warm!! So I did and he said, I love you so much...got down on one knee...said you are my very best friend,I love you more than anything, will you marry me? I was crying so hard I was so happy!!! It was the perfect night!

What do you/ FI do for a living? I work for a bank and FI is a network analyst (computers)
What is your theme? No real theme but I guess Fall
What are your colors? still trying to figure this out. I think red, gold, and burnt orange. Fall colors lol.
How did he propose?
FI and I had been coming up on our Five year dating anniversary and my birthday, so we decided we could combine the two and celebrate by going away for the weekend. We had been talking for a while about getting married and knew that we would eventually.
I just didn’t know when the proposal would be. We went to a jeweler and designed a ring together, however I had no idea when the ring would be done or any of the time line details. He knows how much I love surprises so he wanted to keep our anniversary weekend a surprise so I did not know where we were going.
We ended up going to the mountains in PA and staying at a bed and breakfast that over looked the entire valley. After we got settled at the B & B I wanted to go back outside to the veranda and take pictures of the beautiful view. He agreed and brought along my birthday gift— which I just assumed was a cookbook from the looks of it. Up until this point I still did not think he would be proposing this weekend. I had thought he might initially, but my mother (who was in on it as he asked her permission) was very persuasive at making me believe otherwise.
Anyways, we went out on to the veranda to take pictures of the sun setting and open my birthday present. It was a scrapbook of our relationship. He had saved our first date movie ticket stub, and had pages of us from college, graduations, concerts, up until present day. The last page said “The next chapter”… and when I looked up he was on his knee with the ring.
I don’t remember much of what he said and we laugh about it now because he said I looked like I was going to pass out! Later that night we had dinner reservations at a great restaurant that specialized in crab cakes (my favorite). It was all in all a fantastic weekend!

How did you meet? Through a mutual friend.
What do you/ FI do for a living? I'm a legal assistant, and he hauls Haz-Mat cross country.
What is your theme? Rustic/vintage/elegance... We both love the rustic style (burlap, mason jars, etc.), and our venue is a replica of a turn-of-the-century plantation settlement, so that adds in a bit of vintage,, and I just like the elegance of pearls and things ;)
What are your colors? Burgundy/green/blush/ivory
How did he propose? On our very first date, we had cheesecake, and so it's something special to us, and I make it on a fairly regular basis for him because of that, so when he requested cheesecake on New Year's Eve, I thought nothing of it. We got up New Year's morning and he asked for a piece, which was slightly unusual since he never eats before his first cup of coffee, but I got him some, and then turned around to pour his coffee. When I turned back around, he said, "Will you share cheesecake with me for the rest of our lives?" I started to say sure, and take a bite, and that's when I saw the ring sparkling in the cheesecake! Needless to say, I cried :) And of course, I said yes!

How did you meet? We met at Boston Beer Works on May 25, 2007 and have been together ever since.
What do you/ FI do for a living? I work as an Instructional Technologist and SO is a Retirement Councelor.
What is your theme? Rustic vintage elegance (@Harley Bride-to-Be: love your theme :-)). We are getting married at an old New England Barn.
What are your colors? We are still trying to figure that out...

How old are you/FI? (only if you wanna share) I'm 29 and FI is 30.
How did you meet? In early summer 2007, I left my ex and moved an hour away from my hometown to start over. I left my cushy 9-5 for a job as a server at local restaurant. As it turns out, he was working as a shift leader there.
I remember thinking he was a cutie -- and I just loved to watch him walk away, if you know what I mean. I never said much to him. To be honest, I wasn't looking to get involved with anyone.
Another co-worker had a crush on a friend of his. She asked him to set up a night where all three of them could go out to the bar. He agreed to -- with one catch. He pointed at me and told her to "get that cute little blonde girl to come with us." Of course, I was oblivious to this whole exchange. I didn't know the girl at all, so I was definitely surprised when she approached me with an invitation to the bar. (It wasn't until several weeks later that I learned about their deal.)
That "first date" didn't amount to much. I was a little interested but I kept to myself the whole evening out of shyness. But eventually, we went on a few more dates. And the rest is history.
What do you/ FI do for a living? I'm a photographer (and I continue to work part-time at a restaurant). He's a restaurant manager (at another restaurant).
What is your theme? Haven't quite nailed this down yet. But I'm thinking a jazzy/old South/garden theme. LOL!
What are your colors?
How did he propose? For a couple years prior to our engagement day, we'd talked about getting married. He was the one that brought it up and made it very clear that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. We even browsed jewelry displays on several occasions. But for quite a while, there was no ring and no official engagement.
Then one day in July 2010, we stopped at a local jeweler to get my necklace cleaned. We did the usual -- migrating toward the ring case while we waited. Then, on a whim, he told me to pick one out and try it on. So we sat trying on several different rings and admiring them under the little magnifier thingy. (What is that thing really called, anyway?)
When I'd finally chosen one, he whipped out his card and headed to the counter.
So there you go. Our official engagement was on!

When is your wedding date? 10-12-12 How old are you/FI? (only if you wanna share) I'm 22 and he is 23. How did you meet? A mutual friend of ours introduced us when I was in 9th grade. What do you/ FI do for a living? I'm a full time college student (graduating in December!) and I work part time. My FI is in his 2nd year of medical school. What is your theme? I have no clue yet. What are your colors? Ugh... I change every week. I keep going back to black and white though. How did he propose? The day before Easter he told me he wanted to give me my Easter basket. I immediately knew what was happening. He told me to open the card first. The card said to find the golden egg. So I found the egg. I was convinced the ring was in there... I opened it up and it was a folded piece of paper. I was like WTF? So I opened the paper and it said to turn around. When I turned around he was on one knee!
