My Future Mother-In-Law is driving me crazy! I have spent the past year planning my wedding – that has been completely paid for by my extremely generous parents. We have made every attempt to include Future Mother-In-Law in the planning but her constant barrage of unsolicited advice, rude comments and demands are taking a toll. She has called my mother repeatedly to make demands – she wanted the names of the vendors because she didn’t believe the wedding planner was getting us the best prices. My mother refused. She wanted to approve the menu selections and wine list – she didn’t want to be embarrassed by our choices. Again, we refused. She called the hotel and asked for a copy of our order! Today, she called and asked for the master guest list so she could determine the guest ratio – ours:hers. What does it matter? She isn’t paying for anything! I don’t want to have an argument or a scene before the wedding but I can’t handle much more of this. How much information is too much? Since she isn’t contributing to the wedding, should she be entitled to know how much everything costs? Is it normal for a Future Mother-In-Law to have this degree of involvement?
