I agree a tag would look nice. Maybe a double layer - color underneath, white paper on top. How about a belly band under the string? You could emboss it with a pattern or use a patterned paper, vellum, etc.
I think a tag would look great.
Depending on how you have the tags printed, this idea may or may not work, but I had belly bands on our invites with a label on them (I'll post a pic below). I used mail merge to print the guests' names on the label rather than our names. People LOVED this touch. People really love seeing their own names (seriously). Just an idea! It really makes it feel personal. It wasn't any harder than printing our names, I just used mail merge to pull in the names.
It's a little hard to see on my screen, but it says "AN INVITATION FOR" in a sans serif font and then the guest names larger in the script.
@NAvery: Ooh I like that! Of course it's more work for me.. but I do like how that looks.
Thanks for the help! I'm definitely in need of something!
I hate to tell you, but you have a typo...you spelled accommodations wrong on the invitation card. Can you fix it?
I agree, a little tag with your monogram. I like the idea of having the guest's name as navery demonstrated...
I don't think you should worry about the typo...I didn't even notice! I'm sure you may have seen this before:
Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at an Elingsh uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, olny taht the frist and lsat ltteres are at the rghit pcleas. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae we do not raed ervey lteter by ilstef, but the wrod as a wlohe.
So, I don't think many people will notice that.
Here are our DIY invites, may give yo usome monogram inspiration. We had 2 , one Greek one and one boarding pass theme as it was a destination wedding

@ItWasntMe: sh*t!
I had probably 10 people look it over too, and no one said anything. :(
I think I'm going to have to have them reprinted.. what a waste!
@oandm: if you had ten people look it over and none of them noticed, then is it really worth the extra cost of reprinting?
@BigFatGreekWedding: Probably not.. but I did.
Now on to make some belly bands!
Thanks for the help/inspiration ladies!

Sorry, there are no users yet.
After many many many hours spent creating the invites.. they are finally done, and printed (so there is no more changing my mind). I'm happy with the inside and all the important stuff, but the outside is so ... blah. An idea I'm considering is a tag with our monogram on the string on the front. Other suggestions?? THANKS
