I am going tonight to order my invitations and I’ve been considering using the RSVP postcards (purchasing from Vista Print) to save money on the postage. My question is, do you put the reception information on the actual invitation or just on the rsvp postcard? My concern with only having it on the rsvp postcard is that a lot of people like to have that handy so they know where/time for the reception and if have they have to send that postcard back to us they wont have that info unless they write it down. But when I look at all the samples for invitations there is no reception info on the actual invitation.

@Gobluewedding: The reception info shouldn’t be on the RSVP card. Formal invitations have the reception info on a completely separate reception card. The RSVP card should just have space for their names, whether they accept or decline, and their meal choices (if that’s relevant). If the reception is a the same place as the ceremony, you probably don’t need a separate reception card, and you can just put something like “Reception to follow” on the invite.

We created a whole separate “Reception” card. If you put that info on the RSVP, they’ll mail it back and won’t have access to it on your wedding day!

We included the reception information on the invitation and made sure to direct people to our website where ALL of the information they could possibly need is!
