hmm. i was definitely going to do a map for the out of towners, maybe if it comes out well i could add it..but then again they probably already know the island pretty well..
another question - if i write stuff on the back of my inserts, do i need to put an arrow or something on the front so they'll know to flip it over? i know that sounds really stupid, but sometimes people just don't check..? or am i overthinking..
Maaaaybe overthinking but better safe than sorry. How about on the bottom of the front side, have some text that reaches the edge of the paper at an unusual point in the words. That's a natural indicator for "turn page".
ahh. that's a good idea! definitely not as overly obvious as an arrow, lol.
If you don't want to do a map (since those guests already live in hawaii), then maybe you could do an insert about you and Mr. Sewing. ("Our story" or something cute like that.)
Another idea is you could include one of your engagement photos and write on the bottom corner "Hope to see you there!" or something like that...
hmm. a picture sounds intersting. what would i write on the tab though?
How about "Aloha" on the tab, if you go with what skibobrown mentioned (which I think is a cute idea)?
If you have a wedding website, maybe you could just say "For more information about us and our wedding, please check out our website at ____."
@moffy - aloha is cute, hehe
@lili - i was going to write that stuff on the back of the reception card, but i guess i could just make it the front of the first card, and not use the backs of the cards? then i wouldn't have to worry about them not flipping them over. haha!
it might be hard for me though..white space makes me uneasy, i like to fill everything up! minimalist-fail. :P
Yeah I thought of that too, that's the only downside. What about adding a cute stamp or other graphic to take up space? That might end up making more work for you, though. =)
Maybe you could make a song request card asking guests if they have a favorite song they would like to hear to write it on the card.
What the heck - I was thinking about this exact same thing today as I drove home from work!
haha. i'm afraid what they'd write on the song thing. or maybe it'd be really funny. hmm.
@sewing I think it would be cute to include one of your comics!!
Also I would totally put an arrow on it if they need to turn it over, because my MOH had a horrible experience with tons of her guests not knowing where the wedding was- because they didn't flip the invite over to see the address! (OMG)
@AZ...oh man..that's horrible! will definitely be putting something so they know to turn it over! And I would put a comic, but Mr. Sew said I wasn't allowed to put anything informal on the invite. lool. so unfortunately that means doodles too. but i get my free reign back on the programs, so it's fair. haha!
I'm guessing these are already printed right? I made my accommodations card the largest, so it didn't look funny to not have it in some.
Maybe information about any pre/post wedding events? Like, if you're having a farewell breakfast/gift opening etc?

hi bees :)
im in the middle of invite crafting and found a small snag.. i've got 3 inserts right now: reception, accomodations, and rsvp. now, it fits together pretty well, but here's the thing - half of my guests don't need acommodation/flight info since they already live in hawaii. i think they'd be puzzled if i left it in, but at the same time, i can't just take the second card out of the package (they are kinda "tabbed")
so i'm thinking of putting something else on the second card for the guests that don't need accomodation info. any ideas on what I could include in its place?
thanks!
