He definitely needs to refund your money, including shipping! I would check into a local print shop that can handle your order in a day or two (most will work with you, in this sort of time crunch). Start from scratch with a different company, since he's proven to be unreliable.
What an awful situation to be in...sorry to hear the invitation process hasn't been smooth.
Definitely fill out a complaint with the BBB, and anywhere else you can leave a review. When vendors see these, they'll typically will do anything to make it up to you. Maybe you'll get free menus, table numbers, place cards, etc. out of it.
CALL. Is there any way you would consider sending everything but the reception card? Did you send out STDs? Because if so, don't freak out! Everyone knows you are getting married, they have saved the date!
Call and tell him you will blast him on BBB (better business) if he doesn't reprint the cards and overnight them to you or refund you the price of them. You can always print a reception card yourself on cardstock (i know not perfect but noone will notice) just to get them out the door and get rid of your headache. It sucks, but it's better than having to wait another week for his BS.
Also, if you have sent STDs I wouldn't be worried about them going out a little late. My wedding is June 6th and I just sent out my invites at the end of last week.
Sorry you've had to deal with that crap, unfortunately I think everyone encounters at least one crappy vendor (jeweler, dress shop, photog etc.) in the process of planning a wedding so you are not alone!
Oh gosh I'm so sorry thats terrible. I agree with the above advice, call hom for sure! Get your money refunded and definitely tell him you will blast him to the BBB (and do it, maybe after this mess is sorted out though, you dont need another task on your plate). I say get him to refund your money and then DIY the reception cards. If you just do it on some plain cardstock that matches in color somewhat no one will notice. Best of luck!
I'm so sorry! I had a horrible invitation experience, too. (I wonder if there's something about 6/13 weddings.) After getting the runaround multiple times, being lied to and having my mom lied to, I really started to panic. When the materials finally arrived, I cancelled the print job that the store was going to do for me. For my "troubles", the woman didn't require that I pay the $64 balance due on the paper goods. How generous! Were I not a nervous wreck to get the invites DIY'd and mailed, I would have demanded more.
I found a great local print shop that took my job last-minute and had it ready for pick-up a couple of days later. The flat printing was much better quality than the digital printing the other place offered and I saved a lot. They turned out great! So don't lose hope.
I wouldn't call the guy at home. (Let him be the only unprofessional one in this.) Defintely continue to document everything, demand a refund, and (when you can) post reviews for the benefit of other brides.
I hope that you find resolution soon!
I agree- I wouldn't call him at home either (kinda takes away your credibility if you have to pursue the matter any further, I would think?). Is this Don guy the owner/operator, or a representative? If he's not the o/o, I would elevate the issue as high as possible- hell hath no fury as a bride-to-be scorned!
wow! I am so sorry you had to deal with something like that! I say call him and give the guy a piece of your mind! that is rediculous service! It baffles me to wonder how some people think - to even consider sending inviations that were WRONG. sigh. Hopefully everything gets sorted out - you have a great FH for helping out with the drive!
Alright, so I'm dying to know.... what happened. Because I too, ordered invitations from Don Reynolds and haven't heard from him although I have emailed AND called him every single day for the past week and a half. I am so furious I am past the point of logic. What action did you take and did you finally receive your invitations?
UPDATE* I went above Don's head after getting no response back from him. I searched high and low for the direct manufactures # begged them to listen they did. i said I need the correct invites overnighted to me. They did this and sent Don Reynolds the bill. I of course never heard back from him. WHAT A JERK. DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM INVITATION SHOPPE.com. He is the owner and it's a side job for him. He's in over his head and put wedding invites on the back burner.
Wow. Thanks for the tips. At least they got fixed.
This guy needs to figure his ish out or get outta the biz.
Cancel your credit cards if you paid that way, missbride. And file a complaint against the better business bureau. at least they'll be breathing down his neck.
His website looks shady, just like he is. BOO.

Let me begin by saying that I ordered my invites back in March. I picked out invitations from the timeless love collection by Birchcraft studios. I had to find an online dealer as they are a direct manufacturer. I found the invitation shoppe.com. On the website it states processing in 2-4 days. So, I place my order for invitations, reception and respone cards, envelopes, bows, and vellum slips for the invites. April 19th comes around and I am getting worried. I have now emailed and called Don Reynolds at the the invitation shoppe at least 5 times. No correspondance back. On April 21st I am depserate I find a # for birchraft and I get through the women says she cant speak to me as I dont have a dealer account # ( they only deal with dealers) I explain my whole situation and she feels bad so she agrees to look up the info. She tells me that the order never got to them until April 16 therefore it will be dropshipped and I will have it by the 21st. Okay, great. I'm unhappy but thankful that I at least know that I am getting the order. April 22 comes by no order. I call UPS with a tracking # Don reynolds finally supplies me with. It says exception delivery rescheduled. I call UPS and finally get through to where the package is. The manager tells me that the zip code he has for my address is wrong and that is why I havent gotten them. East Syracuse is 2 hours away and I dont have another day to spare. My FI is the greatest guy in the world and he drives there and picks them up for me at the sorting facility. AWESOME the eagle has landed we have invites.
PART II FI gets home I tear the package from him and what do you know the invites are wrong and the reception cards says the word "evening" twice in the same line. You have got be be freakin kidding me. I am at the end of my rope. Today I emailed Don and called. After stalking him online I found a home # for him. Should I call? I really don't know what to do. I want the correct invites overnighted to me. I also should not have to pay for invites, shipping or reception cards as they were wrong and a month late. My wedding is June 13th and we have yet to get our invites out. IM BEYOND FREAKING!
