Mercurio Brothers in Berkeley has very good prices for letterpress, which should work for light on dark. I know they also do digital printing but don't know how their prices compare there. You can enter your info on their website to get a price, too, which is nice. Paper Source also does printing and seems to have a nice range of options---have not priced them for printing, though.
i went to H2H in SF and they seem to be able to handle lots of types of printing, give them a call and see if they can do it, good luck!
the prices are "reasonable". Not super cheap, but not expensive for regular items, there are those super customized ones and are quite pricey.

Anyone recommend a printing company around the SF/Peninsula area? I really want our invitation on a navy paper, but of course, we didn't find out til later that it's not possible to print any light ink on that kind of color. We're hoping there would be printing companies who can print these things for us. Luckily, we haven't bought the papers, so things are still flexible. The thing is we're pressed on time and no invitations yet. Lesson learned, we thought it was gonna be easy, but this whole dark paper invitation isn't easy when you're going on a DIY route.
