The one thing we decided to splurge on was invitations, partly because we don’t have the time to do it ourselves. We go to the store Paper and Print in Chicago (I’m only naming them because I’m so mad and want to save someone else the trouble!). Everything looks good, we give her our credit card, and the girl runs my card through three times. This alerts my bank’s fraud department. Since it was such a large transaction, they actually decide to cancel my credit card. This I hear from the bank, the store never told me there was an issue. Fast forward two days, I have overdraft fees, and I can’t figure out why my card isn’t working until I take a half day off of work and get this mess straightened out. I finally call the store, and the girl says ‘oh yeah, that happened’. When I ask her if she needs a new card to process our order she says no. One week later, no word from them, no proofs. I call, and they say they are running slightly behind, but we will still get our invites by the end of the month. Two weeks later, no word. Then I call them to hear they didn’t actually work on anything because the original payment didn’t go through. I get mad, and ask the manager to call me, that was yesterday. I called the store a few times during the day to try to get ahold of the manager and the salesgirl ends up telling me that I am upset because I am an ‘unhappy bride’. Keep in mind, I don’t have an ounce of Bridezilla in me. I am mad because this stupid store was going to charge me a grand to do these invites and dropped the ball. I have yet to hear from the manager, the store, etc. No apologies, nothing.
Not to mention this store already cost me about $300 because of a half day off work and overdraft fees. I’m trying to see if I can get that recomped, but I doubt it. I sat last night and did my own invitations with microsoft Publisher and ordered invites on Paper and more with my fiance.
Still, I’m pissed that I have yet to hear from this store who dropped my order! Ugh. And yet, this store has rave reviews on yelp. What happened to basic customer courtesy??
