- Wedding: April 2014
This is my very first post, can’t believe I’ve been engaged for 6 months without needing to consult you guys sooner!
Ok, FH and I are getting married on April 12, 2014 out in Montauk (Long Island). We are both originally from NYC (which is where we still live). All of our friends and family are from the tri-state area with the exception of a few family members who live in New Husband & PA. Montauk is about a 2-3 hour drive from NYC depending on traffic but noone is driving home after our reception so IMO ours is a semi-destination wedding (ie. every single guest will be staying at a hotel on the wedding night, perhaps even night before).
I just established a room block but the release date is Feb 2014 (60 days prior to wedding date). Given that (1) I had already sent out Save-The-Date Cards months ago and (2) I dont have a wedding website, nor do I want one….what should I do about sending out my invitations? Originally I had planned to send them in Feb but now I think I may send them in January which is 3 months before the wedding (which will still give guests about a month to make hotel reservations). Does that sound ok? Did any of you email your friends and family prior to invitations regarding the hotel info?
