I'm planning a Feb 2011 wedding.  When should I plan to mail the STDs?  What about the actual invitations?  And what's a good time to have RSVPs back?

Ahh...so many things to think about!!

    Thanks!!

I got married this past February. My timeline was: save-the-date emails in October, invitations sent in mid-December, RSVP deadline five weeks before the wedding date.

I am getting married at the end of September.  We sent out our STDs at the beginning of March (6 months out) and I will probably send out our invitations at the end of June (3 months before the wedding).  RSVP deadline is at the beginning of September, so a little less than a month prior.

azula....did you have any issues of your invites getting lost in the Christmas card shuffle?  That's what I'm most concerned about!

I was planning to send STDs in September, then mail the actual invitations in late November (in an attempt to beat the Christmas rush).

Bunnylovesbear I think your timeline above will work just fine!  Late Novemeber isn't too early to send for a February wedding.

Nope, no issues at all with the invites getting lost. In fact, we mailed them out on December 18th right before a blizzard and we got our first RSVP two days later =)

But if you're worried about your invites getting lost in a sea of christmas cards, then sending them out in late November is a good idea. That way you avoid the christmas rush and your invites get to their destinations with plenty of time before the wedding :)
