I’ve been struggling over dark/light invitations and dark/light envelopes. I wanted to create some envelope liners out of paper I bought from Hobby Lobby. After experimenting with envelopes (white, silver, and dark gray), I decided the liner was best seen on a dark envelope.
Do you think this light gray invitation looks good with the dark gray, shimmery envelope?
Would you do a different combination?
-I had to block out lots of words on the invitation, so ignore the streakiness.

I loooove it, don’t change a thing

Looks good! How will you address them?

@SandAndSea: Thank you!!
@thewheelsonthebus: I’m thinking about doing a wrap around label. I made these really quick. Do you have any other ideas?

Um can I steal this idea? Hehe 🙂
I absolutely adore contrasting dark/light colors, with pops of color, like your yellow birds!! And I have very recently fallen in love with wraparound address labels. I wouldn’t change a thing!!

@WineAndCupcakes: Of course!! I kind of “borrowed” it from someone else. haha! Thank you! I got the invitation design from downloadandprint.com

Looks great! I love the dark envelope with the lighter invite with the even lighter liner!
The pops of yellow and white look great on the gray paper! Good job!
I LOVE wraparound labels! Unfortunately FH doesn’t care for them, so we’re going more traditional, but your mock-up looks great, depending on how the design wraps around the side, maybe you could do an all white label with gray birds? Just a little tiny touch of the design instead of the whole branch? Just a thought =)

I like the shades of grey. Gives a very nice depth to the invite package.
Very cute, good job!

I love the contrast–don’t change a thing! 🙂

You could always do a yellow envelope too, but I really like the grey.

@Shea_Butter: I thought about that too, but was worried just having the two birds would be plain, and I don’t know how to place them on the label either. I designed that label above for the end of the tree branch to end at the edge of the envelope, and then the white box for the return address would be the only thing on the backside of the envelope. Good idea? Or should I change that up?
@SapphireSun: Thank you!!
@red_pepper_gal: Thanks for the suggestion! I thought about a yellow envelope too, but I didn’t love it as much.

@Shea_Butter: Oh, and I wish my FH cared about stuff. LOL He just agrees with everything I say, which is nice until I need an opinion! That’s when I turn to weddingbee! 😀
