I was also having a hard time with wording on our invitations because we are paying for the wedding ourselves and we are having 2 weddings (our families and friends live 5000 miles away from each other).
For our 2nd invitation (we will already be married at this point) we have:
Bride Name & Groom Name
Invite you to share in our wedding celebration.
The inside of the invitation listed the specific details (Ceremony at 17:00 followed by dinner and reception)
Hope this helps!

Hi hive! It's been awhile ;). My husband and I got married almost 2 years ago in a secular venue outdoors. We are now finally getting around to getting married in the church. Any ideas on how to word the invitation the ceremony and reception? It's only going to immediate family as that is all who will be attending. I don't think we want to use either set of parents name and it will be pretty informal. Wedding in the church followed by dinner at a restaurant. Any help would be appreciated!
