Invitation Wording HELP!

we are having our cocktail hour before the ceremony. our invitations say 5 pm, which is the time of the cocktail hour.

i created a wedding weekend welcome sheet with info about the pre-wedding BBQ, day-of shuttle service, and post-wedding sunday brunch.

on the welcome sheet after the shuttle times, i noted that the ceremony will begin at 6 pm after an hour of cocktails and appetizers. the welcome sheets will be given out when people check in to the hotels. 

dinner/reception about 6:30

don’t know if there are rules, but that’s what we decided to do!

I’d just list 8 pm and not specify cocktails start then.


the only reason i made that note because our shuttle van will be running from 4:30-5:40. i wanted people to understand that they won’t miss the ceremony if they take a late shuttle.

@NYE2014:  You need to write the cocktail and time on separate line – normally done at the bottom of the invitation. 

 Something simple, ie;   We would like to extend an invitation to a cocktail social hour prior to wedding at half past six in the Green Room.
