I am having a hard time deciding the colour combinations for my invitations, so I wanted to hear what everyone thinks it looks better. My colours are lime green and black with demask accent, so I am trying to incorporate those colours in my invitations. The tag with our names would have damask accent on both invitates. The reason I am having a hard time deciding also is because my parents think that black invitations are not for weddings and that people would associate it with a funeral. I think they are elegant. Anyone else feels like my parents? I am curious to hear your thoughts.

No, No, tell your parents that these are two TOTALLY seperate events. Did they know that in some countries black is not to be worn at a funeral because they celebrate a death. Anyway, I think your invitation looks beautiful! Go with it.

I love #2! While black may be associated with funerals, it’s also elegant and bold. I hiiighly doubt that anyone will open your invite and think “ohh, lovely, Sunshine and SO are being burried in July.” Hahah. It looks gorgeous, go for it!

I vote #2. As for the color black for weddings, my sister’s palette was hot pink and black, and I think the black was great. It made the pink pop, and it help tone down the brightness of the pink to make the combo more elegant.

I think they are both beautiful but I love the 1st one. I think plenty of people have black as a wedding colour these days and as long as it is not ALL black you shouldn’t worry about the funeral problem, the green makes it very springy and festive, much not like a funeral.
