I am thinking of using invitations similar to this one I found on etsy (etsy seller: SomethingModern), they will be printed on shimmery white cardstock matted on aqua cardstock and put in a shimmery black pocketfold… we will also have a directions insert, and an accomdations insert. Are these formal enough to indicate Black tie optional/ semi-formal wedding attire??? My overal “theme” is contemporary elegance, so I’m trying to stay away from traditional script fonts.

@alicialoveschase: I think those are perfect, I love the font!

I think they would work great and fit your contemporary elegant theme for sure!

In general, I think the formality is fine, and the invitations are very pretty, but I have two suggestions. It’s totally up to you, but “honor” is usually reserved for church ceremonies, and “pleasure” is used for non-church ceremonies, like yours. I’d also remove the “at” before the time.

The simplicity of those invitations makes them beautiful and formal enough for an evening wedding!
