Make sure you run a few demo invites on normal paper first to see how it lines up.  Sometimes printers don’t like to feed correctly…

We used Gartner invitations we got from Michaels for ours. It was kind of a pain to format everything correctly for our computer because we have a MAC. If you have a PC, the Gartner packs give you a code that you use online for a template.

i used michael’s invitations and have received a lot of compliments!  they actually have a lot more designs now than when i originally bought mine.  i added some personal touches such as envelope liners (since none of the invitations had both of my colors) and adding a little paper punch on the envelope flap, but they are perfectly fine on their own.  definitely use the gartner template and also recommend printing out some test invites as i found the spacing was a little off when i actually printed them out.

I used the target ones.  I cut a few “practice” sheets to get it perfect.  I also downloaded fancy fonts from dafont.com, and used ribbon accents to spruce it up a little more.

Go for it!  I think they have a lot of pretty designs.  Honestly, invitations are one thing that the bride (and sometimes grooom) put a lot of effort and money into and then the guests really don’t pay close attention to them.  I think you’re really smart to go the Michaels or Target route.  I really wish I had done that!  In hindsight, invitations were something I should have spent less money on.

@jaylovessteez: I think I know which invites you got.  My friend had the same ones.  She didn’t change the ribbon but she did and some crystals. You know those diamond-y looking crystals that they sell at Michaels.  She added about 5 or 6 per invite on the ends of the swirls.

Just another idea to think about .
