Hello all! My invitations will be in the hands of the USPS by the end of the day – I wanted to know if you guys dropped yours in those blue mailboxes outside of the post office, or if you actually took them inside to the counter?
Also, just to be sure, my invites required 70c stamps, so I’m still able to drop them in the blue mailboxes if I choose to, correct?
I’m hoping for minimal return on these – I can’t wait to start seeing responses, especially since our wedding requires a lot of travel!

At the counter. One less chance to get the corners dented, dropped, exposed to rain, etc.

I took them inside to the counter.

MrsEH: Take them inside it’s safer

Thanks everyone – I’ll definitely take them inside! 🙂

I’ll be dropping my invites at the end of the week, so this is good information as well.

Honestly, I just dropped ours down the mail chute in our apartment building. That was about 3 weeks ago, and we’ve been getting RSVPs back already and it seems like everyone got them. I just wanted them OUT of our place.

I handed them over the counter because I wanted them hand-stamped.

MrsEH: I dropped mine in the blue box outside of work. They had $0.70 stamps on them. No issues.

Dropping mine off in about 2 weeks, I plan to take them inside like I did for my STD’s.

I put mine in a plastic bag and stuck them inside my mailbox to be picked up by my mail carrier.

They got there just fine.

ETA: I had taken my invitations in beforehand to get weighed so I had the proper postage on them from the start.

Counter at the post office. And we still got two back because they sent them to the return address on the back versus the actual address.

I dropped mine off over my lunch hour today! They are officially in USPS’s hands now! I did end up taking them inside to the counter, the guy took them and put them in their own mailing box, so we should be good to go.
