My mom is DIY-ing my invitations, and I'm really excited about the design she came up with. However, I'm having a hard time deciding what color to go with. My wedding colors are tangerine orange and sage green, and our "theme" is "rustic elegance" (a la Mrs. Cherry Pie!)

    Here are my options:

Option 1 - Green folder with orange/ivory accents - This was the original design. You can't tell in the photo, but the green has sort of a sheen/sparkle to it. My mom dislikes this one because she thinks the green is too light/mint colored. FI prefers this option because he thinks its more summer-y (wedding is in late June)

Option 2 - Brown/tan folder with orange/ivory/little bit of green accents - This was an alternative to the green that my mom came up with - we're using the same brownish paper for a lot of the reception decor (tags on our homemade jam favors, menu signs, instruction signs for escort card and guest book tables) so it would sort of tie that together. FI thinks it looks too "autumnal" for our summer wedding, but my mom prefers it bigtime.

Please cast your vote and tell me what you think/why! Everyone is generously leaving this up to me, but I'm really torn and could use some second opinions! Thanks in advance!

They're both very creative. I do love the green one because it gives it a fun color splash for a summery wedding. Brown is just neutral. My favorite is the green. Keep us posted on which one you decide k.

I love the brown and think it works better with your rustic elegance theme.

Brown says rustic, to me.  Plus it sounds to be consistent with the other elements at your reception.  Green is nice, but I just personally prefer the brown.  :)

I prefer the green (especially for a summer wedding) but your mom did a great job on both!

Just from looking at the two I say the green. Who cares if it doesnt match with the decor at the wedding? Do you have green anywhere in the wedding decor? If youre concerned about it then go with the green ones and add a little green into your reception or ceremony

I voted brown... the green looks a lot more common, like a lot of people would have gone with that colour because it matches their wedding colours. I usually don't like brown but in this case I think it looks more put-together, unique, non-weddingy, etc. Reminds me a bit of Mrs. Cowboy Boot's wedding! And I think it's still summery, in a more rustic type of way, especially since you have the orange in there. If you added autumn leaves and some other autumn colours like burgundy, then I'd be worried that it's too autumnal, but as it is, I think it's great!

Just to clarify for clarebee - our colors are green and orange, but the green we're using in most of the decor is more of a sage/earthy green, whereas the green in the invitations is more of a light/mint green. I'm not really concerned about it not matching - I actually think both of these invitations match our wedding in different ways - I'm just having a hard time deciding which one I like better! =)

i like the green because it reminds me of summer :D i think it's really pretty...

but if you wedding is a bit rustic then the brown fits as well (i'm no help huh?) i don't think you could go wrong either way

Now our parents have all voted, and they ALL like the brown. I'm going to sleep on it then decide tomorrow and never look back. I never thought I'd obsess this much over these little decisions...
