Hi! October bride (married already 😉 ) giving my 2 cents, I think having the RSVP before the holidays is a great idea! Things get super hectic and lots of letters are going in and out of the mail! things can get lost late December!

I was wondering the same thing! Think I will set the RSVP for the first week in December.

To anyone sending out Save the Dates – when do you propose doing that?

@ray86:  My FMIL almost had a heart attack when FI & I said that we were going to enable the RSVP online link via our wedding website for our guests. Bad idea she says, but we both love the flexibility of RSVPing online!

Yikes! I’ve got to get on this! We’re also getting married MLK weekend and haven’t even started making our save the date yet. For that matter we haven’t even gotten egagement pictures because we haven’t gotten a photographer! To be fair, we’ve only been engaged a month, but still… You’ve lit a fire under me!

@ladylyss:  I’m in your boat.  I just got engaged in June, date is set for Jan 18th.

I have no engagement pictures yet, and they probably won’t happen until August.  But since we’re doing a literary-themed wedding, I sent out library card Save the Dates and no picture was required.  But I just got my Save the Dates in the mail at the end of last week!

@StuffWithScout:  If you will feel more comfortable with an early RSVP date, set one.  I think it’s a great idea for you to get everything done in advance of the holidays. Our wedding will be January 10th in Maui, and since it’s a Destination Wedding right after the holidays, we are sending out our invitations very early.  We sent out our Save the Dates in April as soon as we got our engagement photos back from our photographer.  We plan to send out invitations the first week of September with an RSVP date of November 10th.  We want to give people time to plan/consider the expense and details associated with traveling to Maui.
